Not liberal enough

He has been. He certainly stumped DWS when he asked her what the difference was between a socialist and a democrat was now? Hilliary couldn't answer it now or wouldn't either. You should be proud of what you are.

Speaking of the Bundys: the trespassers sent out pleas for supplies and Americans responded....by sending care packages that contained sex toys. [laughing]

At least they're not stinking up the area. Just wait them out, they'll grow tired and leave.

I really don't care for her...and her being Jewish has nothing to do with it. She's just one of those people that just simply watching her talk gets on your nerves.
She is like nails on a chalkboard for me. That woman just outright lies about stuff.

Right -- they're just stealing government equipment and using it to vandalize Federal property on top of breaking and entering and trespassing.

I'll stand by my comment. Taking down some barbed wire and a few posts isn't much. The govt pilfered 600,000 fromt he public to put up a fence that would have cost 50,000 from a private source. The govt just steals our money to line other peoples pockets.

What's your source for that figure? I think you're probably sitting on it -- literally. Breaking and entering and trespassing on Federal property, theft and destruction of Federal property do not qualify as a petition for redress of grievances. If these were Black people or Muslims you lot would be screaming for a drone strike.

No no no, we only clamor to "bomb" brown people. Blacks we just want locked up. Amiright? Amiright?

Spare me your mass generalizations. I think there is a proper way to go about reclaiming that land. What these jackasses are doing is not it.

My source? Just a generalization of what private business would probably spend to get something done vs the govt. It was hyperbole. I believe from the article, they took down a small section of the fence. Probably 20 to 30 feet. Govt estimates put the damage at $200,000. It's hyperbole. I'm not taking up for them, I think it is wrong .

Woo Hoo! Someone else who knows absolutely nothing about the government but wants to tell everyone that private sector is so much more effective. While you're at it, could you please tell us how we need to abolish the IRS?

Be glad to. How would you feel if by chance, a conservative started running the iRS and started auditing all the liberal pacs? Asking for their donor base? Denying them tax exempt status? My plan would tax the ad buys. People can give as much as they want to any PAC but would not get any tax write offs. There is almost no need for it. You could tax consumption, this would get the illegals and legal visitors without exception. How much money do you spend doing your taxes? I spend easily 10,000 each year. Imagine how much money I could give to the WVU golf program if I didn't waste it on accounting fees. You think the govt doesn't have enough power and I think it exerts too much control over our daily lives.

Any PAC, liberal or conservative, should be audited and shouldn't ***** about it. PACs aren't tax exempt, surely you knew that. You don't get tax write offs for giving to PACs. You do get tax write offs for giving to non-profits. I do my own taxes.

Run a business, you would feel different. The liberal pacs weren't being abused and you know it. Conservative Pacs were. Why should they be audited? It's free speech. I believe the SC ruled it so why would there be need to audit it?

I have ran a business. Tax is collected from PACs. Tax is collected from you and I. Do you not believe in audits at all? Anyone who pays taxes should be subject to audit. If you have nothing to hide, there's nothing to worry about.

As I have said, it's just another govt agency that has too much power. I get it, you think giovt is good, I think that our govt is very poorly run and it's run to benefit itself. More people employed= more power. If the IRS was only tasked with making sure that businesses paid the taxes it collects from the sell of goods, I would be for it. I have never been audited. You and I just fundamentally dsagree about the scope of govt. I think that govt is inherently wasteful. We need to reform the IRS and many of the govt agencies. I would start with both the IRS and the postal service. I hit a wrong key and my type changed. Nothing meant by it other than I'm not very good at it.

The time in question was the beginning of the Tea Party movement, so there were a lot of groups filing for status as 501(c)(4)'s - social welfare groups that spend less than a majority of their funds on politics. So you have a glut of groups filing for a status that requires auditing to determine that they meet the qualifications, and the majority of the groups filing for status are Tea Party related - due to the new movement. Also missing from this story line is how a ton of just these kinds of groups associated with the Tea Party did get approved during this time frame. Another piece of the puzzle that most don't note is how many of the groups complained that they would not get approval in time to spend money on the election cycle when they are supposed to be using the majority of their funding for social welfare, not political activity.

I'll see if I can find the numbers. I did some research on this a long time ago.

Also, I beleive that some of the people who contributed to these PACS were subjected to audits and they had never been audited before in their life.
