It's no the speech, it's the tax exempt status.

Under my tax plan, there would be no tax exempt status for anybody. Tax what they spend their money on. The best way to regulate everything.

I keep hearing how great that would be. I keep thinking about the tax rate you have to add onto existing sales taxes (state and local), and I have to wonder how negatively that impacts commerce - the life blood of our economy. To make enough to sustain a government, you are talking about taxing at least 15% on sales.

Talk about being bad for the mom and pop stores ... that would crush them. It's already hard enough to compete with on-line sales and that would be the final nail in the coffin.

A national sales tax is so ludicrous for so many reasons, idiots that bring it up should just be mocked for stupidity. It isn't even worth discussing any further.

Only idiots think that taxing everybody and not just a few is fair. Do away with the income tax and do a flat tax. Then, govt's main focus would be to keep the economy good and not favor certain sectors.

They can't compete with online stores anyway. I fundamentally disagree with not taxing online stores. My tax would include them too. They have to pay the tax to whichever state the product is sold to. My tax would include churches on whatever they buy. Non profits too. Whatever is purchased by whomever. Everybody shares.
