Now it gets serious. For the first time all year the Pirates will be facing a talented P5 team and will be underdogs. The setting will be neutral and the game being played very early in the morning local time.

I see a competitive game but not a victory.

Well if they go 2-1 that means they would not have played Chaminade.

Not necessarily.
The only way that this would happen is if Seton Hall beats NC State, Chaminade beats Washington St, they both lose in the semifinals, and then play each other in the 3rd / 4th place game.

I’m not the betting man to take those odds.

But Chaminade is 8-97 in their history at the Maui invitational. So a win isn’t out of the world of possibility.

let’s just hope win #9 isn’t them beating us in the 7th / 8th place game.

that is unfortunately more realistic than us beating them to finish 2-1. But what do I know.

Gotta go with NC State. Too much offensive talent and a coach who can teach team offense. 3rd in the country averaging 13.3 made 3s per game.

I generally agree with you but I do think Washington State is primed to get picked off by the Silverswords.

WSU is 2-3 with home losses to Idaho and Washington and a 16-point loss at Davidson while defeating St. Thomas and Southern Utah.

I could certainly see us in a 7th place game with them on Wednesday given our half of the draw seems more challenging. Or finishing fifth and getting one of those unsatisfying 2-1s like we did in Atlantis.

Do we even know who is not injured on this team? Is Hines still nursing a groin injury? Who will be 100%. I am thinking Hines will not be 100% yet. Which means trouble in the post.

NC State 90 SHU 75.

What if Seton Hall loses to NC State then defeats USC/Boise State while Chaminade loses the first round game and wins the second round game?

Chaminade would need to beat Arizona State in game two....I just don't see that happening.
