You all do realize we have freakin sucked for over a decade? Set your standards a little lower and be happy we just beat a team we probably haven't beat in 10 years.
or you could look at it another way. be happy we are showing improvement. You don't have to be content, but to say you won't be happy that we pulled out an upset is ridiculous. I won't be happy the day we lose the other two but after the 4 games and we are 2-2 I will be happy.bulldogka said:/settle for mediocrityArlngtnDawg said:You all do realize we have freakin sucked for over a decade? Set your standards a little lower and be happy we just beat a team we probably haven't beat in 10 years.

So are you saying they have to exceed your expectations for you to be happy? Maybe that is where the disconnect is. I think everyone will be happy with 2-2, I just think some people don't know what happy is.Coach34 said:goldeneye said:We could easily go 1-3 in the first 4 games. We've been going 1-3 in these types of games- we haven't lost to Memphis for a long damn time...1-3 means we've made no progress...2-2 should be expected
So you say my post is dumb because I think Miss State has a better chance of beating Houston in an away game than beating Auburn, a team that some have picked to win the West? I think you put too much faith in a home game. We played UF well last year because they really didnt have an offense and we lost 31-3 tp Bama. you call that playing them well? Auburn has questions just as well as every other school outside of bama in the SEC but I still like our chances against OM and Houston. I said from the beginning i think we will go 6-6 this year and one win would be over Georgia or OM. Where are your SEC predictions? Id love to see those. Sorry but Id be happy if we started 2-2 which means we would do 1 of 3 things: 1) Beat Cam Newton 2) Beat Georgia (which I dont think we've done in a minute) 3) Beat LSU @ Death Valley which I know we havent done in forever.Coach34 said:"So let me get this straight, if we start off 1-3 and end the season with 5 more wins over UAB, Alcorn, Kentucky, Houston, and OM and go to a bowl game then we are in the same place we were in the last 2 seasons? "
I don't think we finish 6-6 if we go 1-3 to start...we have a better chance of beating Auburn and Georgia than we do Mississippi in Oxford or maybe even Houston. Home games are huge- just look at how well we played Florida and Bama last year. Auburn and Georgia both have questions, and our stadium will be full and loud. We have talent on the field. We are coached well. Losing both of those games would be disappointing to me.
is there not a dbl eagle in golf? if so, leading the toughest div. of the toughest conf. in the nation 1/4 through the season would be at least a triple eagle!!!maroonmania said:0-4 = double bogey (time to pack it in)
1-3 = bogey (disappointing and will be very difficult to recover from)
2-2 = par (minimum needed to keep hope for a good season)
3-1 = birdie (above expectations and things are looking great)
4-0 = eagle (almost too good to be true and we are asking people to pinch us to make sure we aren't dreaming)
