Whoever thought of this Gruden/QB pre-draft thing should get a raise.

After watching him on TV I see why the media brought him up for several open coaching jobs. If anyone has a problem with how intense and the language he uses, imagine how some people would react if we had Gruden. I see alot of Gruden in Mullen in terms of how he gets down to business, tells it like it is, and how intense he(Mullen) gets.

...sit there and let Gruden yak on them. They should have because ESPN is getting some serious mileage out of that series.

He may just want to take it easy as a broadcaster for a while. He's very good at it, gets paid well, and has no pressure at all and can see his kid play HS football, which is something I think is important to him.

considering how high profile TN's job is. And their search wasn't exactly what would be described as "stealth." They seemed to almost immediately jump on Dooley. They could have learned a thing or 2 from the SEC's Ninja.

1. His connections with the Kiffens. Monte was his DC at Tampa, and I think in light of that whole situation, UT wanted to get away from any and all connections to them for the time being.

2. UT acted hastily. I don't think they expected Lane to leave, and instead of taking their time they took what they could get. I think Dooley will essentially serve the same role as Mike Shula a few years ago. Keep the program afloat for a couple of years while the school collects their resources to make a run at a high profile coach like Gruden.

It was like they were completely caught by surprise that Kiffen left. There had been rumors of Carroll to the NFL for a week or two and UT should have known Kiffen would be a likely (or at least a possible) target for USC and they should have done some of their preliminary work before it ever got to that point.</p>

Gruden really picked Tebow apart on film review of the SEC title game, showing how the low holding of the ball caused fumble and reads were mentioned. I hope Coach Mullen got some pointers.

I'd love to see a SNL sketch on that.

Gruden to Claussen: Now on this next play you pretty much suckedevery variety of *** there is. Right there, you blew the game with that one, maybe the whole effin season. Next throw here wasn't bad though.

Because you never know what can happen, from a Kiffen situation to a USF and Leaveitt/Texas Tech and Leach situation, you always have a short list for your HC posistion. I think that hire shows the quality, or lack their of, of their AD.

And I think they're going to fire that AD and hire a new one right before they fire Dooley, most likely in the summer/fall of 2012.
