but why would a 3 star and above kid not want to play in the SEC vs CUSA? Seems to me that is an advantage we will always have. Now if were having to compete with them for 2 star guys, were going to suck anyway.

We will know more tomorrow but this may not necessarily be a year after year thing. If it's a 2 game series every few years like we have with Tulane or Memphis, I have no problem with it.

You are correct that I wasn't around, last time in 1990 I would have been 10 and simply cheered for the maroon team regardless of who they were playing or other politics.

You are naive if you don't think usm will benefit and MSU will be hurt by playing. I was around, involved closely with a booster in recruiting, and had the same we have nothing to lose attitude. I was big time wrong. Playing them becomes lose/ lose/ lose for us. May take 6-8 years but it will happen. Just simply the way it will be.

them in the 70's and 80's. He told me they always seemed to play especially dirty and I believed the word he used was "thugs." That was his problem with Southern and was why he was glad we stopped playing them. He also said they used to actually be pretty good and his theory was the good players there couldn't get in to Ole Miss or State (or weren't worth the time to struggle to get in).

There are more of us that are in favor of the move than the board looks like because of all you guys that have to start 100 new threads to ***** about it.

I think it is a good move. I'd rather play them over a lot of teams on our schedule. As long as they replace the perennial CUSA game and we still have a Oregon, Georgia Tech, etc... team on the schedule.
