I'm kind of surprised I don't see it brought up more here. Maybe it is and I've just missed it, but it sure looked like Rutgers had the Michigan State defense tired when we used our last time out. The announcers on BTN said something like "that time out was just what Michigan State needed, they were spent."
If Rutgers had scored a touchdown then instead of the field goal, it would have given RU the lead. Michigan State might have come back to score, but the lead could have changed the game if the score went to 28-24 -- forcing MSU to get a touchdown.
To me, that was the play that cost us the game.
