Why do the Bengals always crap the bed?

Since the Skins got beat last week I really didn't have a dog left in the fight. But i was pulling for the Steelers today. For the sole reason of keeping this glorious thread alive and kicking.

Oh well…

Pitts was clearly the better team today. Manning and his receivers were off, and the Denver D didn't do much... well, until that big huge ginormous TO, anyway.

Pitts should've won... with a shot next week at NE to go to SB 50. The only turnover of the day cost them big time. Definitely should've been a flag for the shot the Pitts fumbler took to the face.

No biggie, though. Stuff happens. As they say--- the way the ball bounces, cookie crumbles, spilled milk, and all of those sorts of things.

Wow. Super Bowl 50. Think about it. It just would've felt right for one of the NFL's storied franchises to hold that trophy up high a few weeks from now. Like a GB or the Cowboys... even Pitts, for that matter.

I don't know... I may not even watch it, now.

I'd have to see a replay, but I'm pretty sure that major blow to the face caused that Pitts guy to fumble. I mean he got whacked! Gosh, if the refs had just thrown a flag... I guess they thought it was incidental contact. Oh well, who am I to question their job performance... I'm sure they try their darndest to get it right.

But your daughters should feel totally safe with Jeremy Hill running around. You know, the only player that was actually charged with a sex crime that played in last weekends game, forcing oral on a 14-year-old girl.

You can talk when you beat us when it counts. Or when you win a playoff ga....well, if you beat us when it counts.
Hill is garbage no doubt. He may be the only player charged with a sex crime who played in that game, but he was not the only one who has been accused of a sex crime.

Hill perturbs me because he is more interested in his TD dance than anything. Mr. Fumble would be gone if it were up to me along with Jones. But the Giggler will do nothing. Brown will do nothing and the beat goes on.

Found this clip of Toussant's game-changing fumble. Heard he was inconsolable afterwards. Just a darn-diddley-dang shame, is what it is.

Now the replay I saw during the game was from a different angle. It clearly showed him getting whacked in the face. In fact, the hit was so hard I could see his eyes--- they looked something like this pic of beloved American entertainment star MR. T:

I really don't know how the refs missed that penalty-worthy hit... but you can't expect them to see everything, even if it involves the guy with the ball, amirite! Anyway, what a turn of events. Pitts was already in FG range, and with the proper penalty applied they probably would've marched on and punched it in for a TD.

Frankly, with Brown back in the lineup, Pitts very likely would've beaten the Patriots, next week. Then it'd be on to Super Bowl 50!!! What could have been... Oh well, I guess sometimes you just have to take those NFL lemons and make some lemonade.

I assume you're trying to be funny. Honestly though, I'm not sure. Are you implying Steelers fans whine about the refs? Because everything I've seen has been completely one-sided from Bengals fans. My post above was simply illustrating that sometimes calls don't go your way. I have no idea what you're trying to say. No one but you has said that was a penalty andthe fumble should have been overturned.

But if Comedy is your thing, I would suggest finding a new thing.

If Denver struggled so much with a Steelers team containing a bad defense, and a fraction of it's offense, they will get demolished next week by the Patriots.
Damn I hate the Pats & Brady. Guess I'll be rooting for the NFC in the SB (if that's ok with wcc31).

Oh, I'm quite sure every single one of the Pitts fans that are posting in their Pitts threads/on their Pitts boards are taking the "high road" after this tough loss... and expressing nothing but respect and admiration for those visiting fans of other teams that drop by to offer a differing opinion.

On the hit to the face: Yes, that's what I think I saw, anyway. Wasn't quite a grab of the facemask, but could easily have been a hands-to-face flag if the refs saw it/decided to call it. No biggie. Just a part of the game... or totally reversing the course of the game, in this case.

Mind you, it wasn't intentional, but the hit from that swipe had as much to do with the ball coming out as the subsequent contact with the arm/football, IMO. I just enjoy objective analysis.

Denver did not look good to me. Yes, Manning had some drops by his receivers, but he seemed off and there wasn't much spark until after that Pitts TO. I implied (in the NFL thread) that Kubiak was likely a couple plays away from considering Osweiler... would've been a ballsy move, but I would've respected it. The TO saved him from that hero-if-it-worked/idiot-if-it-didn't decision, IMO.

Broncos best chance next week is to keep it close... and hope the Pats get gassed at the end, due to the altitude situation. Pitts, with Brown back, would've been the only team to win in NE.

Tomlin cried after the Denver game so the transition is complete. Pittsburgh, the once feared Steel Curtain that filled the HOF with some of the meanest and nastiest players ever to take the field, has become a soft little bunch of wusses begging the refs to save them like a bunch of Dookies flopping on the ground. Sad, but they can cry with the best of them. No wonder Burfict hates them so much and feels as though it is his responsibility to beat them down physically. I bet he sees them as weaklings and thus it is within his natural instinct to attack and maim. The very irrefutable laws of nature call for him to do so. The weak must be culled from the herd and right now Pittsburgh looks and cries just like the runt of the litter so bring on more Burfict to set things right by nature. The herd must be culled. Let Burfict sort this out on the field the way it should be. It always must be this way and not some other. That is the way of men.

Need a photo of that. I think someone on here enjoyed posting pics of a watery-eyed Bengal... but they probably were just enamored with images of sobbing NFLers. They'll definitely want that Tomlin-in-tears to add to their collection.

Speaking of crying... here's what Pitts linebacker Jarvis Jones had to say about the refs take on the play where Manning went to the ground-- then got up and threw a 34-yard completion: "I actually didn't see him, but Peyton's f***ing giving himself up. And everybody knows that. Peyton's not going to take a hit. He's going to give himself up, but he made a hell of a play, so."

One might construe that as a bit whiny, especially since that Bronco drive ended with a punt... so, I'm sure it was a misquote.

^ Look at these two losers. Feel better about a Steelers loss than Bengals win.

I dont feel better about it, but I certainly love it!!! Try to pick a city and a team and stick with it bud. I realize youve never set foot in Pittsburgh and have never been to a steelers game, but yesterday was a wonderful sports day and Im sorry your bandwagon *** is upset.

I love the fact that Mike Tomlin is the Steelers coach. He is EXACTLY like Tubby Smith. Win a title with someone else's players, then get lazy and do pretty much nothing for 6 or 7 years. Since Tomlin choked away the Super Bowl vs the Packers, the Bengals and Ravens have won the division more than him, hes missed the playoffs 3 times, had to sneak in the year on a Jets loss, completely SUCKS at drafting players and has completely changed the identity of the Steelers from a smash mouth, kick your ***, intimidating football team who was defensive oriented to a team that slings the ball 75 times a game and basically sucks on defense and is soft.

Please keep Tomlin as long as you want. I realize Steelers fans think he is an incredible coach. As a Bengals fan, I agree!! Also, can you guys maybe teach him how to speak?? He sounds like the brothers in Airplane. I cant understand him half the time.

[laughing]

Not upset at all. Didn't expect much with all the injuries.
