I had posted this earlier, but some didn't read it. Possibly because that mouth breather CatsBy90 implied that it said something that it didn't.

This is a good, fair article that talks about calls that weren't made and how both teams deserved to lose.

That's a decent post and I appreciate the time you took to write it. I only take exception to the part about the call on Jones being correct. That was horrible and decided the game. If you throw a flag there then you throw two or you throw none. You don't decide the game by turning an already controversial ending into an insanely controversial ending. Pittsburgh had STAFF on the field provoking Bengal players. Of all the nonsense I saw on both sides, that above all else needs addressing by the league decisively. To have NON-PLAYERS on the field actually doing crap to decide a playoff game is just too much to look over. The league must act on that crap, particularly since it has also been shown that the Stillers staff were hair pulling, too.

The call against Jones was because he hit a ref. There is no disputing the fact that he ran into the ref, which is an automatic flag. Now if you want to say there should have been a flag on Porter, that is a different argument. It doesn't appear that Porter makes any contact with a Bengal player (however at least two Bengal Players shove him at different points) so that would be out of the question. Since Bengal players did initiate contact with Porter, they could have seen a similar flag that was given to the Pittsburgh coach earlier in the game.

If you are wanting to flag Porter for being on the field, then you need to also demonstrate that the Bengals also didn't have extra personnel on the field which is highly unlikely. We don't have camera shots from the Burfict tackle to prove or disprove it. However, when Bernard was injured there are lots of camera shots showing a large number of Bengal staff on the field at the time. If you are going to call it one way, you have to call it the other.

Once again, Burfict decides to go back to the huddle instead of trying to knock our Brown and none of this happens.

The penalties and no calls were a lot of ********, but honestly that is not why the Bengals lost the game. Jeremy Hill lost the game on the fumble. Period. Burfict picks the ball off on the 24 yard line with 1:42 to go in the game and you fumble on the very next play. Unreal.

Ill take it a step further and say Marvin Lewis is as responsible as Jeremy Hill. Kneel on the ball 3 times, kick the 40 yard FG, go up 4 with about a minute to play and make the Steelers go 80 yards with zero timeouts. It wasnt going to happen.

So while the calls sucked, Burfict is a thug idiot, Joey Porter is human trash, and Brown faked being injured and winked at PacMan, the bottom line is Jeremy Hill shouldnt fumble. And his coach shouldnt have been handing the ball off to him.

Did not respond to your previous linking of this, but okay. I mostly agree with this article. The Shazier hit usually gets flagged in today's NFL. Steelers were lucky as hell to come away with a win, but at the end of the day the Bengals have no one to blame but themselves. Hill taunts Willie Gay and fumbles two plays later. Burfict tries to decapitate Antonio Brown and gets flagged. Pacman makes contact with a ref and gives the team with a one-armed QB 15 more yards. Ballgame.

They didn't call the Bengals for having staff on the field after the Shazier hit, and they were consistent in not flagging Porter, as for Munchak grabbing Jones' hair why do you think he did that? Because Jones was going after Toussaint 10 plus yards into the Steelers sideline. Jones should have been flagged for that too and the penalties offset but I'm not going to whine about it.

I'm guessing that maybe the ref thought it was shoulder to helmet (clearly it wasn't). Don't think that is reviewable. If he thought it was shoulder to helmet, since he had the ball and had made a move, he was no longer defenseless, like Brown was at the end of the game.

Defenseless doesn't apply to that play. Football move doesn't apply to that play. Helmet to helmet contact doesn't apply to that play.

Porter should not have been on the field per nfl rules. But neither should Bengal staff during Bernard's injury. At least they were consistent. The only difference is Steelers players did not cheap shot any Bengal coaches from behind while they were talking to the officials as you can clearly see below.

I keep hearing Porter was nowhere near Antonio Brown and was instigating players. The below two videos clearly show Porter standing right next to Antonio Brown talking to a ref. Burfict shoves the trainer attending to Antonio Brown. Porter turns around to talk to the ref and Gilberry shoves him in the back. Anyone have video showing me what I keep hearing from Bengal fans-Porter standing in a group of Bengals instigating them?

Ward was never dirty. The only ones who thought he was were CBs and Safetys who were not used to being hit back. That is why they play those 2 positions, because they are fast and can hit people with little concern of getting hit back. Ward was the one WR who would hit them, very roughly, but clean.
