I think there are some other reasons why we haven't done this more. First of all, LSU's football team is a freakshow. And they have depth. Jared Mitchell was a guy that was buried on their depth chart in football. At MSU, he would have probably started. When you have that kind of depth, it's going to be a lot easier for your head football coach to say, yeah, go play baseball if you want.
The problem we have is that the two way guys that are either good enough to get a scholarship for maybe one sport, but not the other. Like that Coty Bradford guy- we want him for baseball, and he wants to play football, but probably isn't worth a football scholarship at an SEC school.
Now that said, if we get a guy that can play both, by all means, we need to do it.
