You’re exactly right. The racist turd Kaperdick is treated like a hero by the socialist media.

The media in this country is an absolute disgrace.
If we had made it to the final against TT, who would the media push? Would they actually push us over TT? (I'm asking mostly in jest ... since TT got caught praying, we all know the answer.) But that would've been weird ... the media supporting/pushing UK.

I enjoyed the Somali piece. Not sure why it's so offensive to you, unless you hate Muslims. After all, it's showing refugees assimilating into American culture. That's what this country is all about. The more the merrier. It's what makes this country the greatest on Earth. Anyone can come here and live their best life regardless of race, sex, religion, national origin, etc.

You are trolling. I enjoyed the piece. I pointed out that when Islam is being covered in a basketball piece the media embraced it being part of tbe teams culture and willingly included it.

In contrast as soon as the CBS crew became shocked that on live TV there was about to be kneelimg in "Christian" prayer they cut away as quickly as possible.

Why the different treatment? Rather than trolling how about a thoughtful response this time.

I am a combat Vet that was the reason I do no longer watch the NFL is because of Kaepernick and all them other guys taking a knee and disrepecting our flag and what it stands for.. As for the muslims in this country those in congress are very Anti Semitism .
Chevyman, when I see all of this total disrespect from jerks like that I think of my grandfather who was severely wounded in WWI. We lived in Eastern Kentucky and the closest VA was in Huntington, West Virginia. In the '60's he was still going for treatment and I will never forget the scene I witnessed at the VA. For about a quarter of a mile on the same side of the entrance to the hospital I saw a ton of disabled vets lining the streets, begging for food and money. Most were missing limbs and were either in wheelchairs or wearing fake legs, arms etc. Absolutely the most pitiful sight I have even seen and I was only 6 years old. If anyone has earned respect it was those guys.

Try to know some and you'll find out most are upstanding good people and contribute to our great country. I recommend everyone get out of their comfort zone and meet refugees or attend a naturalization ceremony. You'd be amazed at how everyone wants the same thing for their life. Stay away from FoxNews and try to learn about your communities in real life.
Your ignorance and arrogance is mind blowing.

Speaking of praying in the locker room, do any of you remember Kennedy McIntosh? He was a first round pick for the Chicago Bulls in the 1971 NBA draft and finished his career with the Seattle Supersonics. He was called "The Monk" by his teammates because he was always praying at his locker to a photo of his spiritual master, Meher Baba. That too, was not on CBS.

Really...Dylan Roof and Omar
Just quit already.
It's this type of rhetoric that bothers me.
Dylan was a mass murderer with mental health issues.
Omar is an elected official who was elected by a huge somali refugee population. Ever been to the twin cities?
Lil Mogadishu? .
No assimilation is happening there. No cooperation with police or other federal agencies. Check out rinckerby sweden.
Go To Dearborn michigan, how bout Columbus ohio, see how assimilation is there.
I've been there, I'm a minority, I've assimilated, I am a citizen.
Before you start making this about identity, religious in this case, educate yourself.
Stop with comparisons between Islam and Christianity.

not to mention Roof never said he was a Christian or killed because of it. He was mentally ill, troubled since a child, on drugs and video games etc. He had no religious background or motivation whatsoever. Only a wilfully dishonest troll even tries to draw the comparison.

A Bible in one hand and a sword in the other. A Godless country has no direction. That’s where we’re headed right now. If some people have their way we’ll end up taking “In God We Trust” off of our currency. Know God Know Peace
No God No Peace.
I would argue the problems in this country all derive from religion (and around the world). Separation
Of church and state works just fine for me. Your sky dad would probably rather we all just get along.

I fail to see the outrage some of you seem to experience.

They showed them kneeling and beginning to pray, so they respectfully allowed them privacy to do so. They even acknowledged when they cut back to the panel that they were having a moment of prayer.

Have you not seen the countless player interviews after games and the press conferences where players thank God, Jehovah, Christ and so forth. They don't cut away from those moments or censor them. I am not sure how you can see that and formulate that CBS and other news outlets are censoring out religion.

Seems like a lot of faux outrage as an excuse to scream patriotism and blast people you disagree with. I can see it's going to be a long off season for many of you. Perhaps find a hobby. I would suggest praying more.

They didn't cut away because they were praying, they cut away because prayer with no audio is kinda boring. Ernie even mentions their prayer. But you can tell the crew was hoping for celebration.

CBS shows people praying, prayers on the field, players thanking God, etc, etc, etc.

I can certainly understand appreciating the team's devotion to a higher power, but can't understand whining about CBS college basketball's coverage of prayer.

later edit : didn't see post right before mine, but wholeheartedly agree with it

Seriously? That is your take on it? LOL. How boring would you consider CELEBRATION without audio? One would think audio is a prerequisite for vid of celebration not to be boring.

You have your opinion and I have mine. They jumped the second they saw the team going to bended knee. Is it plausible that they wanted to give the team a private moment? If the coach looked at the camera guy and said...can you give us a moment....then yes. He did not and we can all judge why CBS bolted. I am pretty sure I am correct as to their distaste as to what was going to happen.

I would argue that Socialism and Communism (formally atheist) are the root of the problems around the world. Certainly the greatest body count racked up by the millions.

Separation works find for you. Does the constitution and TTU's FREEDOM of Religion and religious expression work for you too?

I'm supporting TTU for the reasons OP mentioned to begin this thread. Typical SJW-type move by CBS.
But, also to watch the freak out by liberals who will be triggered by the TTU motto of "Guns Up!" and the associated display of holding hands above the head in the shape of two pistols. Elementary school kids have been sent home with a note for such heinous transgressions. LOL!

So if what you say is correct, how come in the post game interviews and press conferences when the players and coaches mention God, Jesus, Jehovah, etc. do they not sensor it out or cut away? Why was it that they waited until after the players had knelt and were beginning to pray to cut away? Why was it that the announcers even stated they were having a moment of prayer? Seems like you are leaving out the whole picture and just targeting a portion to promote a narrative. I seem to remember Tim Tebow kneeling in prayer a lot before games and it getting covered quite often just a few years ago. He played on CBS quite a bit too.

We Christians need to take our country back by any means possible!

I'd suggest you read the U.S. Constitution, for it seems you don't understand it. You cannot "take back" something that was never given to you.

This was not meant to be a Christian or Muslim country. Instead, it was designed to be a "US govt shall have nothing to do with religion and y'all are free to worship whatever you choose on your own time" country.

If this was Kaepernick taking a knee they would be applauding. Same for the glowing coverage of the Somali basketballers in MN. They sought out and glorified the Mosque. Instead when it is TTU and a touching moment of thanks to the Lord, CBS cuts and runs as quickly as they can. Shame on CBS...but totally expected.

LIberals run the mainstream media. That's a 100% fact.

This. Minneapolis regularly finishes at the top of studies ranking quality of life amongst US cities. Yet apparently some have decided it must be a hellhole because muslims live there.

And, fwiw, my sister lives in Minneapolis. I've visited quite a few times. It's a lovely city (except for the winter weather), really one of the nicest cities its size you'll ever find, even with those oooh scary Somali immigrants out and about.

When reading his “we Christians need to take our country back by any means necessary” one could assume he means “jihad against the infidels”.

Less boring than watching prayer with no audio. No audio is needed for these :

But it's fairly damn entertaining.

Look, I get it, you're constantly persecuted for your political and religious beliefs while living in your parent's basement. You can be mad at CBS all you want. They hate you and your stuffed animals.

Tim Tebow?!?!? Wow. He was relentlessly mocked in the main stream media because of his religious beliefs. His being a virgin, etc.... You really couldnt have found a better person to make my point.

The camera guy does not make the decision to cut from the shot. That happens back in the "booth." I'm sure that as soon as HQ saw the offensive action about to take place THEY were the ones who decided to cut back to Ernie and Sir Charles. Who were doing the audio over the camera at the time. What else was Ernie supposed to say? He did his job.

For cripes sake, they were doing what they always do. Have you not watched any of these before?

It's a recurring bit they've been doing the same way for many years now: they show the way the players greet the winning coach when he enters the locker room to get the celebration (or lack thereof), and then cut back to the studio after that moment is over. They did not cut back to the studio because of some evil anti-Christian conspiracy, instead they did so because that's how they ALWAYS do these bits.

Goodness gracious, this thread is so stupid. Quit being so paranoid.

Tebow wasn't mocked relentlessly except by opposing fans. Most people did and still have great respect for Tim Tebow, particularly the media. Your point is that mainstream media doesn't allow religion, yet, they routinely showed him and others praying and even coined it Tebowing!

People mocked him being a virgin because he is a good-looking, high level athlete who was dating super hot women. I don't think people were so much making fun as being very skeptical. Can you provide some links of the mainstream media mocking his religion or virginity?

No one said the camera guys control anything. Not sure where you go that. You are saying they cut out prayer because they are somehow promoting some anti-religious agenda. Yet they allowed the whole thing to play out and clearly prayer to start before they cut away. They announcers they cut back to mentioned it when they didn't have to say anything or could have easily talked about something else. That doesn't really support your narrative.

You have yet to answer if that is the case why do they keep allowing players and coaches to talk about God, Jesus, Jehovah and so forth in post game interviews and pressers without cutting away or censoring it? Seems odd they would be so anti religion and still allow that.

And they typically stay long enough for one of the players to advance their team to the next line on the bracket. I missed that happening. Sorry if I had gone to the bathroom at the time.

You probably could not be less correct without trying. Take a stab at Google and there are hundreds of links to TDS rooted in his faith.

https://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/08/...bow-debate-a-clash-of-faith-and-football.html

“There’s always a religious component there,” said Howell Scott, an evangelical blogger and pastor at a Baptist church in New Mexico. “And with Tebow, it’s often an anti-Christian bias. People want him to fall flat on his face.”

Scott refers to this as Tebow Derangement Syndrome, which his blog defined as “the acute onset of mockery and verbal ‘hatred’ in otherwise normal people in reaction to the football prowess and play — nay — the very existence of Tim Tebow.”

So your Biblical justification for the sword other than protection would be? Know God, Slay those with No God?

I can agree that we are living in ungodly times. And that they are increasingly getting worse. However, I don’t think the solution to reaching a hopeless generation who is in desperate need of truth and a savior is to conquer them physically & violently. Jesus didn’t think so, the disciples didn’t think so, and the early Church/Christians didn’t think so.

Just asking but do you think Muslims would ever respect Christianity? They’ve been fighting for thousands of years.
