Why I think we still have a shot at the Peach.

I really think that the Outback bowl does not want USCe and will take aTm. That scenario puts LSU in the Cotton, and leaves the Peach with the option of having a Clemson USCe rematch or taking MSU/Vandy. Surely the Peach would take us over Vandy on economic impact alone.
I think that we would travel to the Peach bowl, but have serious doubts about how many MSU fans would actually go back to Jacksonville with how we have played lately. Pretty sure we would pack out the Music City again also if the matchup was a Va. Tech type instead of a WF type.

All depends on the MSU vs. Vanderbilt deal. Their on-field resume is better, our off-field resume is better. Even if they do get picked before us, anyone in their right mind would pick 8-4 MSU over 6-6 Ole Miss. I don't think they jump us, honestly. For recruiting purposes, there's positives for Jacksonville (NYD Bowl), Atlanta and Birmingham (we recruit those cities heavily). Not much upside for Cashville. I think I read somewhere that we spend the bowl payout in travel expenses anyway, so really who cares the payout.

If MSU played Clemson...

...in the Peach Bowl it would be an embarrassing disaster for MSU. I want to see MSU play somebody like Duke or Michigan State in a bowl game. Somebody flawed & relatively toothless. If you put MSU's **** defense up against Clemson's offensive speed & depth, Clemson will set a new record for points scored in a Peach Bowl.

Too slim a chance. They openly said

that we needed to win the egg bowl to remain in consideration (I think). While it's possible that the peach can't get anyone like outback to trade with them so they aren't sitting with USC, that scenario seems less likely than us falling to the BBC-Who-Gives-A-17 Bowl.

I don't see us beating Northwestern or Wisconsin either and those are 2 possibilities in the Gator.

The Cotton gets first pick from the West, so if they want TAMU, they're headed that way. However, that doesn't mean the Outback can't throw a wrench in the monkey works by selecting LSU instead of South Carolina. This is is the only thing that has me wondering if we might not be going to Jacksonville. I do think it's already been decided.
Guess we'll find out next Sunday evening.

I thought Outback picked before Cotton and just "traditionally" picked an East team. I could be wrong though.

Cotton and Outback each have right of first refusal for whatever west and east team they want, given the teams left over following the BCS and Capital One Selections. So, if Cotton wants A&M and they aren't in CapOne or BCS, then they get them. Likewise for Outback with whomever from the east they covet.

Got it, well no way aTm drops past Cotton then. Outback might take LSU though especially over an injury depleted USCe.

Great, then we can...

come up with special uniforms commemorating our 1999 win against Clemson, complete with #PeachBowl hashtag, and a motivational speech from Dontae Walker. Then it is on to the shredding that Clemson will give us on the magnitude of Texas A&M.

What a fitting end to this season.
