Just checked it out, and for the record I completely agree with you. I guarantee you they would feel the same way if the tables were turned.

All things being equal (or at least nearly equal), I don't want a UM grad covering our beat. But in hindsight, I think Veazey is possibly the best beat writer we've had in my memory. His improvment over the last couple of years has been impressive and there's no doubt that he works his *** off and does a good job of being objective but putting more emphasis on the positive things about MSU sports, which is just what I think a beat writer should do. Report both the negative and the positive, but give a little more emphasis to the positive.

I can guaran-damn-tee you those Rebel fans would be pissed if an MSU grad was covering the UM beat for the largest newspaper in the state.</p>

Godfrey summed it up perfectly on Nafoom. I really don't care where someone went to school, as long as they are qualified and bust their ***. Kyle has the background and is a very hard worker. And hell, I was a product of the same j-school and I bleed maroon and white. So you never know...

we just differ on opinion which is fine. Any other job is fine but when it pertains to this job or maybe some other jobs that involve MSU, I would not want an Ole Miss grad doing it.
