Why is Banks getting so much NFL love?

First of all, let me preface this by saying I'm a huge Banks fan and I hope when he gets drafted, it's in the 1st Rd and he's becomes a billionaire. With that being said...<div>
</div><div>Why is he getting projected so high? </div><div>
</div><div>From what I can gather, he's a lean 6'1'', 185 lbs and runs a 4.6. He's asomewhatphysical corner that's not scared to make a tackle. He's not exactly a lockdown corner nor does he have the body type to play safety. He does seem to have "good ball skills" and a "good understanding of the game", but he seems to be missing a lot of themeasurables.</div><div>
</div><div>Where does he fit into a NFL system? </div>

I realize that scouts see things that the average fans don't but none of our DB's have shown to be great one on one defenders. It may just be the system that Wilson/Diaz runs but we always seem to give a big cushion and then try to lay out the reciever rather than playing tight man coverage.

He's shown some big play ability and is a tall corner so worst case he could do red zone coverage.

cuz just like DP, Banks isn't going to impress anyone with a 40 time. Last time I kept up with things a corner who goes 4.6 doesn't jump into the 1st/2nd round.<div>

The NFL game is changing. Look at the Colts (with Manning), the Packers, the Saints, and the Patriots. It's almost like flag football. Lots of 3, 4, and 5-wide. Tight ends that can catch. Teams need lots of DB's that are versatile. Banks has decent coverage skills, can make one-on-one tackles in space, and has great ball skills. Teams are willing to give up yards in exchange for turnovers and big plays. Banks is always around the ball (look at his interception numbers compared to Charles Mitchell for example). He is tall which helps the matchups against bigger wideouts or some of these tight-ends that play like wideouts. Banks to me is a mistake in the 1st round or early 2nd round, should go late 2nd round or 3rd round, and is a steal in the 4th round.

The NFL is responding to how awesome Jimmy Graham is. They realize 5'10" corners cannot handle is game.

Did you guys know Jimmy Graham played college basketball? Rarely known fact.

He should check his 40 time (the NFL way, not the BS HS/Scout etc. way), then do some research on how CBs with that time in the combine did in the draft. If he can do a 4.4 or 4.5, he should go as he'd be a high pick. 4.6 or higher, and he should stay as there's a high chance he won't even get drafted.

All this talk about his stock is complete wankery. None of it means a thing until he can hit the 40 time the NFL wants at the combine.

I don't go back and watch any film or anything but I've not seen anything from Banks to be worth of an early round pick.
