Why is Dan Mullen Open to Leaving (if true)?

Why is Dan Mullen's name continuously mentioned? He has an SEC job now and has done well. Why would he be looking to leave? And how/why would he consider coming to RU (I just don't see it)? Does he have some type of connection here?

Probably wants more money from Miss. St., or knows the NCAA will be coming down on them due to their stellar recruiting over the last few years.

He has an SEC job at one the hardest schools to win at. Second in his own state and no real strong recruiting area. He may have reached his peak with the resources at miss st.

I think the idea is that he's done well at an SEC school where it's traditionally very hard to win, but he's likely reached the ceiling of what can be done in Starkville. So he's well respected and well paid, and is now looking to parlay that into a job where he can achieve at a higher level. As for Rutgers, I can only imagine it's because he is a native of Upper Darby, Pa., immediately west of Philadelphia, so he's got some natural proximity to the school.

Easier to win a NC at the U than Miss St

The ACC is soooooooooooo weak. If you have a decent team, you just have to show up and you'll win 1/2 your conference games. Have a good team and you'll be Clemson (who UNC will expose).

And you go from Starkville to Miami? Easy choice.
