WHY is DAN MULLEN SO BAD AT IN GAME ADJUSTMENTS?

ive been saying it for 3 years, but this year is the most glaring.....good coaches go in at halftime and make adjustments to what is going wrong.....

Going into half, Mullen was point blank asked "Coach, what kind of adjustments will you make at halftime?" I immediately laughed at myself watching the interview, and Mullen answered "We have to tackle better....that was just bad" Again she asked what would he do to in the locker room to adjust and he went on again that 'we have to get tackling cleaned up'

teams are adjusting to us....Bowling Green changed defensively in the second half by blitzing on just about every play and we didnt score a point. Our coaches did nothing.

Thinking back to last year, close game at half in the Egg Bowl....I remember Freeze saying after the game, at half they decided to 'bring a DE end down' or something along those lines and they blew us out in the second half.....

I tell you what boys......I'm beginning to see the difference in good coaches and great coaches....the best coaches can make adjustments.......We simply are not doing it, and havent been doing it at all under Mullen.....getting the signature victory is not going to happen until he can in game coach and make adjustments....

I'm not having high hopes for this years Egg Bowl either.

If you need proof of how bad our staff is at adjusting, just look at BG running the same running play that we didn't adjust to stop. we gave up 5.5 average per run. that's ridiculous

Well

he wasn't wrong, when mentioning tackling better. Our secondary has no clue on it. It's like 2003 again.

We should have made the "stop getting blocked" adjustment because that was the biggest problem we had facing the run game. The RB was very average; he just picked his way through holes and players who were blocked and couldn't shed. There were a number of flagrant holds that you could see on the jumbotron replay.

Having said that, it appeared to me that we actually widened out our linebackers, who often moved in when they went in motion and then got sealed. After that it looked like we started putting more men on the line. Collins said on post game that he switched to some basic base formations to get the guys to quit following the guy in motion.
