mentioned when one of these big time programs has an opening? Is he that happy at Mizzou, or is he not known as a good coach?

I married a girl from Missouri, so I've followed Mizzou a bit more than I otherwise would have. What's he's done with that program is really nothing short of amazing. They are at least as hamstrung as OM and MSU in their conference, and in the last6 years he's gone to 2 conference championship games (3 division titles or co-titles), had 3 10-win seasons, and gone to six straight bowl games.

A lot of mid-tier programs get a superstar like Chase Daniel (although I'm beginning to believe that Pinkel made him the superstar), and then go away once that player is gone. He's now had Brad Smith, Chase Daniel and Blaine Gabbert--all very good QB's who have led extremely explosive offenses. He's also put a number of DE's and DB's into the NFL.

Jeremy Maclin in Philly and Danario Alexander in St. Louis are both important pieces to each teams' offense.

just as Schiano, Grobe, Ferentz, etc. If the names are being floated around, it means there's something to it. Mullen's not getting big money right now, so his name is out there. Until we pay him, it will continue to float. The guys that are happy don't even listen to advances. They don't allow their names to circulate. This is common sense.

Does anyone do less with more than Mizzou? They are the only program in a state with more than 2x the population of Mississippi. They have two major cities in their state in which to recruit. I would argue they are better positioned than LSU or Arkansas and yet, they seldomly do anything of significance.

Maybe that is why no one comes after Pinkel.
