One would think that the MSU/U-dub game would be on in prime time. Instead the Neb/N'wstrn game is the prime time game. Maybe Nebraska football games draw better TV ratings.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe each Big Ten team is contractually obligated to play at least one game a season as the BTN national game. Nebraska has two of these (tonight at Northwestern, later in the year vs. Minnesota), but I think these are the only BTN national games for our opponents. These "national games" are selected before the season.

Uhmmm, Nebraska does get better ratings. The most watched teams in the Big Ten are:

1. Michigan
2. Ohio State
3. Nebraska
4. Penn State
5. Iowa

Michigan State and Wisconsin are low on the totem poll for eyeballs.

However, this is all ABC/ESPNs fault. Prior to the season, BTN selected Nebraska @ Northwestern as their Night game because they knew the game would be a "tier 3" broadcast. That means they could pass it on to ESPN 2 or ESPNU at 11 am or select it for the night broadcast on BTN. BTN has first choice for tier 3 Primetime. They chose the Huskers at NW over Iowa at Rutgers and Colorado State @ Minnesota.

But inexplicably, ABC decided they wanted Florida State @ South Florida as one of their top tier games. BTN was then left with Wiscy at Michigan State, and didn't mind the ratings grab at Noon Eastern.

Sheez, I remember when it was wonderful that they were even on TV at all. Now we worry about prime time and all of that. Oh how times have changed. Showing my age?

Anyone remember the one hour college football highlight show way back in the day on a Sunday morning?

I thought Wisky and MSU should be gameday. But instead they are doing their 2nd Tenn game of the year. Screw Tennessee. They suck.

I agree, but at the same time, didn't Wisky already get gameday at Lambeau? I think Arkansas/A&M makes the most sense. Shrug

Was told on twitter by Sharpe that ESPN didn't consider it out of respect for Big 10 Network because it was the debut of the Big 10 Nets gameday show there.

Wisconsin looks really good. For our sake, luckily they have to go through murders row.

They definitely have the inside track after that pick six. MSU not showing any signs of making up two TDs in this one.

They were given way too much credit for that Notre Dame win. Their defense looks solid but their offense isn't looking very good at all..

They looked really bad last week, we'll see how they turn out with the next few games..

No doubt, their schedule is brutal. They may be pretty beat up by the time we play them.

On the flip side, Iowa looks bad. Really bad.

How did Paul Chryst go 19-19 in three years at Pitt, and is getting ready to be 14-3 at Wisconsin, after stomping the dog poo out of #8 Michigan State in East Lansing??
