coaches that coached against him and saw him on film quite alot, plus the Spring Game. You'll see come September what I'm talking about when I say he doesnt run "quite well" when playing against an SEC defense.

Tyson Lee didnt run it "quite well" either and <span style="text-decoration:underline">everybody</span> I've talked to acknowledge Lee being a better runner than Russell

Are you on crack? You are comparing a 4 year starter in the SEC in a premier program to a redshirt freshman who hasn't stepped foot on a college field. At the very least wait three years until you make that kind of bold statement.

Then I agree we will wait till September. I dont know what coaches you speak to but I would not personally put much stock into their info. I have seen the kid run the spread option and he does it well and that includes keeping it himself. Guess im just hopeful that one of our players will be successful instead of being like you and constantly downing the boy.

They said he runs as well as any QB on LSU's roster and Jefferson is a pretty good scrambler.

I say get Garret to Starkville so we will have an insurance policy incase Russell gets hurt or leaves our program.

Haha you must of not seen LSU play too much this past year because Jordan Jefferson is about as good a scrambler as Byron Leftwitch was with a broken leg. Jefferson scrambled well in the Peach Bowl two years ago by the grace of God. This year he ran around in the backfield like he was looking for his mouthpiece on the ground until a big, slower defender came up and hit-sticked his ***.

Dear Chris,<div>
</div><div>Referring back to your comments of playing and competing for a starting QB job at a school that can win national championships... lets start there. You made an absolutely ****** decision. It happens. You wer 18 and actually believed you would roll with the Jamarcus's of the LSU QB world. Yes, 4 heaping spoonfulls of ******** you and daddy ate up there buddy.</div><div>
</div><div>Now that we are back down to REALITY. Welcome back to reality but not MSU. You and your FORMER MSU, now LSU daddy made a seriously ****** decision to attend LSU.</div><div>
</div><div>I also remember a quote from said Daddy saying "now we know who our real friends are". Well why don't you and your "real" LSU friends go 17n 17 yourself.</div><div>
</div><div>17.... Croom didn't recruit 1 QB and now Mullen has 20 of them 17'ers</div><div>

And what is the harm in this? It's not going to affect our QB recruiting because he's in the same class as Tyler Russell. They'll both be leaving at the same time.

If Chris's dumb *** had any foresight whatsoever, he would have gone to MSU, Grayshirted, and sat behind Tyler Russell for five years and then start as a sixth year senior. But no, he decides to go to LSU and take on whatever freakshow from the swamp that they dug out this side of JaMarcus Russell. Now he's on the exact same eligibility clock as Tyler.

Also, does anyone else find it funny that now that Croom is gone, almost all of our QB prospects are pro-style QB's? Of course, Croom recruits a wishbone QB to run his pro-style offense. Is it really that hard to find a spread QB that doesn't want to West 17'n Virginia? At this rate, we'll probably end up with Barry Brunetti to.

Croom's offense wasn't exactly offensive player friendly unless you were a punter. Mullen was signed on fornot evena month before Chris was going to sign with LSU. He signed in December and enrolled in January at LSU. As big a MSU fan as I am, it would have been hard to send a kid to get coached by Croom.

I don't know the details surrounding how the Garrett's were treated in Tupelo, but if they were ostracized in any way by the "bulldog community" up there, I feel bad for them. Poor form for a bunch of alleged adults. Can you blame them for not wanting to send their kid to play in Croom's shat-tastic offense? Really? Didn't he decommit during the season? Like after the glorious 3-2 game and many other soul draining offensive performances? Even if it was before then, our season surely only validated their decision to go to LSU.

Hate to say it, but If I had an 18 year old son in the same situation and Croom was sitting in my living room, I would tell him to go where he thinks he will be happy. Any "bulldog fans" wanting to give me the cold shoulder after that can go 17 themselves.

I think anyone that still bears any resentment towards Chris or the Garrett family really needs to check themselves and grow up. Sure, I was mad at first, but come on. Its not the end of the world.

I am sure the coaches will give him a look and offer a scholly if it is warranted. I am fine with that as long as the coaches feel he might bring something to the table one day. I definitely do not advocate denying him a scholly just because he spurned State a couple years ago.

Why the hell would the immovable object that is Chris Garrett come to play in Mullen's offense?

LSU coach Les Miles confirmed Thursday night that redshirt freshman
quarterback Chris Garrett is leaving the football program. Garrett had a
meeting with Miles on Wednesday and asked for his release. Miles
granted Garrett his release<span style="font-weight: bold;">. Garrett cannot transfer to any Southeastern
Conference school other than Mississippi State.</span>

Somebody with access tell us what the rest of the article said.

Garrett play against NWR in the playoffs a few years ago and he didn't impress me at all. Tupelo was a one man show (Bumphis). I'd let him walk on, but I don't think he deserves a scholarship after seeing him play. I'd make him earn it.

1. I, too, would have never allowed my son to go and play in Sly Croom's offense if he had other good opportunities. My buddies and I used to have this conversation about the second quarter of every game during the Croom era. As much as we love and support State, my kid wouldn't have played in that cluster17.

2. But, also, Garrett should have never committed to State, should have never told the masses that God told him to go to Baton Rouge (why would God send anybody to BR anyway except for a version of hell?). Don't patronize us.Which makes me say, if he wants to walk-on, come on. If he doesn't, we'll move on.

any idiot who thinks we should pass up on a QB who would walk on (we have no scholarships to give) is a IDIOT.
Since when did MSU become rich in Qb talent? You have a Jr Qb who is going to be run heavy in the SEC meaning an injury would not surprise me, then you have Tyler a rs-Fr who has never taken a snap and looked like crap in the spring game, and then Mini-Farve.
I'll take some more depth.

Michael Vick would have had a hard time running in that slop. I was at the game too. Garrett didn't impress me that much, but he only threw the ball like 8 times because of the weather. Obviously, he has zero mobility, but I'd take him.

I'd take Garrett in a heart beat at Ole Miss simply b/c he has the physical specs to be an SEC QB and at least a handful of head coaches thought so too coming out of HS. You can never have too many legit QB prospects. Forget what offense it is. Legit SEC QB prospect. They don't all turn out but you don't just turn them away. I can't imagine Mullen wouldn't rather put in a guy like him rather than a scrub that runs fast if your top 2 QBs get hurt or something. If he sucks in practice all year just kick him to the curb...not like there would any repercussions from it since he spurned you the first time around.

Reminds me of the dumbasses we have that think we're better off without Jevan Snead on the team...like it would be a bad thing having a guy on the bench who's started 24 games for you even if he lost the starter's job.

Stupid bravado is a dangerous thing.

Those are two things you don't want in a QB.

Commits to us and promptly jumps ship to LSU on an impulse and makes a poor decision about his playing chances given their roster and recruiting.

...then...

After only 12 months he decides to leave LSU on an impulse after feeling he didn't get his shot in the spring and makes another poor decision because he's behind the 8 ball now wherever he goes.

It's like the smoking hot chick you started dating who did everything right in public but was absolutely terrible in bed. You just have to cut your ties and look back for a moment and ponder what could have been.

Adios, Chris.
