Why wouldn't Rutgers reach out to Narduzzi?

We likely could have had him two years ago to try and save us some from further program decay. Not saying how it would have turned out, but If we end up going coordinator anyway that would be quite the kick in the ***.

He's already doing very well at Pitt in just his first year. Recruiting is up and their on-field play is much better. There'd be a buyout we'd have to pay to make it worth his while to leave, and given our universities' respective athletics histories, it isn't like an offer from us would cause him to throw away what he's already got going there. Pretty sure we missed our shot two years ago.

I don't know why everyone is touting the conference as a plus. Les Miles almost got ran out of LSU because he is in the SEC west and has to go against that grinder of s schedule every year. If Les was in the ACC he'd have 6 conference titles. Pitt has a much easier path to the playoffs, look at UNC.

We have the downside of schedule and none of the upside of the money yet.

Herman too who I was beating the drum on, of course no one paid attention haha, like I am Aranda now. Narduzzi I thought was a solid choice but not in my top picks.

No way. Look at that - thats just an avalance of food on the floor waiting to happen. The sub roll in a Fat Sandwich keeps all of the deliciousness safely off the floor.

As far as Narduzzi - why would he leave. He is doing well at Pitt. Its an easier conference with the same reward at the end for doing well.

Plus that sugary-sweet cole slaw on Primanti's sandwiches literally ruins the sandwich. (I've tried them out there and I honestly don't get the hype or the success they've had.)

And I agree, I don't see him leaving a comparable job he basically just started to come here. Its a lateral move at best.

I don't think it would be in anyone's best interest for Narduzzi to leave PITT after one year. Also, let's not get carried away with what Narduzzi has done. His record is decent but he basically just beat who he was supposed to, if that. In addition, PITT's recruiting is worse than it was under Chryst and he was considered to have the personality of a piece of bark. In fact, RU is ranked higher than PITT for 2016 and RU has had a challenging year. He'll land a stud WPIAL kid (shocker) and then a bunch of threes and twos.

Narduzzi is home.

Narduzzi grew up in Youngstown Ohio (60 miles from Pittsburgh).

As DC at Michigan State ,Narduzzi was offered several head coaching positions which he turned down because he was looking for the "Right" head coaching position.

When he accepted the Pitt HC position he said he was coming home and is looking at the Pitt job as a long term
commitment. He has the complete backing of our new Chancellor and AD and he and his coaching staff is paid well (thanks to ACC Conference membership.) I believe he is the "real deal" as a good game day coach and will be an excellent recruiter. Pitt has a natural recruiting base in Western Pa and with his B1G experience he will recruit in the midwest and the ACC Conference membership will allow him to also go south.

Penn State fans (BWI Board) already have several threads ( ex."Twitter Yesterday" over 4000 views and 90 plus responses) are becoming very concerned about Pitt recruiting now and in the future.

Narduzzi is an inspirational coach who has a passion for winning and is able to transfer that passion to his players.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

like every fan base some of you are overstating the Rutgers job... Quite frankly It is the worst job in that division in the Big ten... Under no scenario will you be consistently better than 5th.. There is a reason RU has never really won.. Schiano had a few good years in a terrible conference and thats it... Pitt is in a better position to win, more tradition by far, and situated geographically to recruit better against their ACC coastal peers... At what point will RU ever recruit better than PSU, OSU, UM, and MSU or even maryland? An established coach isnt coming to RU because its too difficult to win there.

LOL

Narduzzi beat who he was supposed to beat but lost to the other guys.

Other guys:

Iowa (CFP ranking #4) Pitt lost by 3 points
Notre Dame (CFP ranking #8) Pitt lost by 12 points
North Carolina (CFP ranking #10) Pitt lost by 7 points
Miami - Pitt lost by 5 points.

As far as recruiting, Narduzzi is starting to roll.

I like what the dominator Franklin did with Sackenberg in 2 years under his coaching.

Not sure if you notice Pitt sweep the ACC rookie awards with true frosh Whitehead (DB) and Red Shirt Frosh Ollison (RB) receiving the awards. Future recruits take notice of these things.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

I won't even waste time responding to this post in depth...you guys have been revolving door U since quitting on a guy who was ''home''...geography...you're an isolated misplaced outlier...shame cause i really like ''old'' Pitt in the 80s and respect Panthergrowl..i don't like dissin anyone but this is what you come here to offer...

Poor recruiter. We dodged a bullet.

The B1G East is much different than the Acc.

Like I said, he beat who he was supposed to beat and lost to the other guys. Pretty accurate - I didn't you would count moral victories.

Exactly how is Narduzzi starting to roll in recruiting? I would concede Ford. You will also get Hamlin and possibly Sanders will flip. We told Wheeler thanks, but no thanks. Other than that, where exactly is he rolling?

Yeah, I'm sure recruits do take notice. PSU was lucky enough to have the B1G Defensive POY (a walk-on at that) as well as Saquon Barkley being named 2nd Team All-Big and B1G All-Freshman Team.

Luckily we will find out what's what soon enough.

Now lets look at the dominator with all his great recruits:

Penn State

Lost by 17 points to Temple
Lost by 28 points to Ohio State
Lost by 2 points to Northwestern
Lost by 12 points to Michigan
Lost by 39 points to Michigan state.

Lets look at recruiting in February.

And? We aren't a very good team. Like PITT, we beat everyone we were supposed to and lost to who we were supposed to.

Yes, let's do that.

Like I said, we won't have to talk crap much longer because we'll actually settle it on the field. Can't wait.

At the time I thought no but they beat us fair and square, had a better record than we did and are ranked in the T20. Hard to make an argument that we are a better team than them.

When comparing the disparity in recruiting between Penn State and Temple, it is shocking what competent coaching can bring to the table to negate effective recruiting.

Don't you agree.

I am glad we have Narduzzi and you have Franklin.

By the way Pitt doesn't have any 2-star recruits to date.

Waiting for February.

Man, you're really into this huh?

Nothing negates effective recruiting for a program long-term. Anyone who thinks otherwise has been sold a bag of crap by a program that can't recruit. Temple was one of the most experienced teams in the country (started 11 Srs, 5 of them RS Srs and only two underclassmen) this year. Like I said before, they beat us and were the better team. Kudos to them.

I respect both kjb and panthergrowl as posters, but why the hell is there a Pitt-PSU pissing match on our board?
