Will Mullen recruit another running back the caliber of Dixon?

it doesnt look like it so far...and i think if anthony was coming out of hs today, he wouldnt be offered by mullen because evidently he doesnt fit the prototype of back mullen recruits....here at mississipp state i think we need rb's that can make a hole for themselves and carry a few people because our oline will never be that of the top tier programs....without dixon's power, we dont come nearly as close to lsu.

We've had a lot of good RBs that were not power backs.

Next year's RBs are Robert Elliot and to RS Freshmen. I hope they step up.

If Dixon were the most athletic high school runningback in the state of Mississippi, Mullen would go after him.

pushed them around, the problem back then is we had big power backs that did not have true break away speed. If Norwood would have played on those teams he would have been a 4,500-5,000 yd career back.

Hoping this redshirt year develops him nicely and his career pans out to all the hype he recieved coming out of highschool.

Montrell is 215 pounds and apparently can run pretty fast. I would think that Mullen would go after any talented RB that wants to come here. William Shumpert came even after Mullen decided to come here. If someone that is bigger, but happens to be fast, wants to come here, I doubt Mullen would turn him away.

Matthew Wells out of Lawrence County? I know that he's not exactly like AD, but he is 6'2" and something like 180-190. He could easily bulk up to 210-220. He also is a guy that I could see us lining up in the slot at WR or in the backfield at RB.

exactly my point.....when anthony was coming out, everyone recruited him as a fullback, but croom was one of the only ones, if not the only one that specifically wanted him as a tailback.....that was one of two things croom hit the jackpot with....the other....hiring ellis johnson

You're wrong...he made Conner a focus and he's a big back. Then he's offered Ballard from Gulf Coast CC lately and he's a big back.

He knows he needs at least one or two big backs to go along with some speed guys. We'll have Perkins, Elliott and maybe R. Henry there with some other guys.

Also agree there aren't many Anthony Dixon's coming out of HS. Big backs with speed and power and hard to find.

Ballard is 200-205....he ain't getting any bigger than that probably, he's half-way through college....i'll give mullen that he got m. conner, who is listed now at 215, but again, thats a croom recuit...mullen held on to most all, if not all the croom recruits....just like t russell(who most would agree that is not the prototype qb that mullen usually recruits).....i just believe that mullen would not have recruited m. conner if he were not already a croom commitment.
