I don't care anymore about winning. I just want Rettig to play. That's what I'm looking forward to.

WHY Al do you know something that McDaniels does not know or maybe you know better then the entire coaching staff.
But you keep regurgitating the "we want Rettig" ******** for what purpose other then dissention. For a smart guy you are getting jerked around by the very same jerks that you despise?

It would be nice to see him in the first half again. Maybe we could be competitive

What is wrong with our fans?!!!!!!
We still have a shot at a 500 season, which would be a major accomplishment given all that has happened.
We have a long way to go to compete with some of the teams in our division. Big F'ing surprise!
That doesn't mean you give up with four games left. You harden your resolve and fight on!

Rettig will get played. He may even get in at the end of the game.

Some of us hold the opinion that continuing to steadfastly keep Laviano under center through the first three quarters of our games against strong B1G defenses is akin to giving up on our offense, especially if Carroo remains unable to play.

Hey, Rettig will get his 1 long completion late in the 4Q and out gain Laviano again.
So there's that to look forward to

I will be watching the game with a former UM d back.He complained about their QB situation & I laughed. It seems so hopeless & unlikely that Laviano will do well.Maybe our D can keep it competitive, but I doubt it.Flood will never give Rettig a shot with the game on the line.I want us to win,but totally identify with Al.

Beautiful!! I'm with you 100%. They are a bunch of quitters. What happened against Mich St? We took it to them until the final 4 minutes. Mich St. is comparable to Wisc. Instead of standing behind our team and supporting them, they run away. It's a shame.

Flood will keep Laviano in until there is no chance that even Johnny Unitas could pull the game out.

Guess I just dated myself.. So be it.

Agreed, we may be down by 40 at halftime, so Rettig should get 2 full quarters!

This is not how it works. He will still have face in Laviano to pull a come back still. That's why Rettig only gets 7-8mins down by 3-4 touch downs. That's when Flood faces the 1-0 goal for the week is done.

Either someone has hijacked Al's account or he is saying what people want to hear to try to reach 600 likes or his puppy died. There are many games left to play and we might just beat Michigan. Laviano is not the reason why we lost the last game.

No, it's not an "OR" situation... we have to be down by 40+ "AND" it be the 4th quarter. If we're down 40 at half time, we'll still see Laviano until there's less than 10 minutes left in the game. Putting Rettig in before then would "hurt Laviano's development", or whatever. We could be down 70 at the half, and we still wouldn't see Rettig until the 4th quarter.

Does not matter who plays @QB. Current roster does not have the **** to produce wins at this level of competition.

From the LIMITED amount of time Rettig has played in games.....seems to have a stronger arm but less mobile and accurate than Laviano. Rettig lost the starting QB position in practice, and unless people have watched ALL the practices, the football experts on here can continue to post their half-assed opinions.

I would like Rettig to start a game to see what he can do, but the coaches get paid for this decision.

Look what Brady Home did and what is now happening at Michigan with same rosters. Hoke got paid a lot of cash to make those decisions.

The offense looks so much better when he's in. Our coaches suck.

Once again..... What the F are you talking about ?? How can you even comment about his performance when you dont even watch the games? And if you had made that statement you obviously dont watch all of the games.

because IN THE ONLY GAME ACTION RETTIG HAS PLAYEG AGAINST A BIG TEN STARTING DEFENSE, HE PLAYED TWO SERIES AND THE OFFENSE LOOKED LIKE CRAP. WHERE YOU EVER COME UP WITH THE MYTHICAL NOTION THAT THE OFFENSE LOOKS BETTER WITH HIM IN THERE IS BEYOND ME.

..... Two three and outs, 1 for f'ing 5 and 2 yards passing

People may have other reasons for thinking he should get a shot to play but saying the offense looks better in there with him is one of the most ridiculous statements of have ever read on these boards.

Yeah great,,, he threw a nice pass against the scubs for a few teams.... but when you are comparing Laviano's lack of sucess in some of the past few games, the only thing you can truly compare him to is Rettig's first two series against Wisconsin

THE ONLY TIME HE HAS PLAYED AGAINST A BIG TEN STARTING DEFENSE.

NOBODY SAID HE IS. Just likely better than the other guy
The guy playing QB now sucks and he is not the QB of the future. We have a legit 4 star who can throw much better so why not put him in? Laviano was said to manage the game better but he hasn't managed s&@$.

Sure, a .500 season would be a WIN here. And I'd love that for the players. But coaching has been abysmal. I'd love to see some signs of life in the coaching staff.. changing QBs, going spread more, throwing on 1st.. seeing a deceptive offense that executes well.. SOMETHING. Add some excitement here.

This game and the last two we were playing with house money and we played so conservatively that the favorites crushed us.

Who wants to see that? What player wants to be a part of that?

BS. Laviano performed well with Carroo at WR, as any QB would.

Laviano has better stats after 8 games than Nova did last year as a 4 year starter after 8 games. Same TDs and one less INT and a much better completion %. Not only was Nova a a 4 year starter, but he had Carroo for 8 games vs Laviano having him for only 4. Moreover, Nova had Burton, Turzilli, Tsimis, Kroft, and 3 SR O lineman that could protect him...with Friedgen

Just to put things in perspective. .

You can see how much better he looks back there with one snap. Stands tall in the pocket, looks downfield and throws the ball like a D1 QB. If you can't see the lift when Rettig goes in, you're blind.

So now we want our coaches to select their starting qb's on their posture and how they look? How about they complete more than 1 pass against a starting big ten d when they get their shot
