Don't think we could beat Duke now and I hate Duke.
I said this after we beat them, but Duke is still a team that hasn't reached their ceiling yet and will only get better and better. Unfortunately, I think there isn't much ceiling with our team and unsure how much better we can get. Sure we have some guys hurt, but this roster doesn't scream ascending talent imo.

How did we beat Duke ? They have 1 other loss all season.
The big kid had cramps. I’m blown away by people that refuse to see this. If he stays in the court we don’t win that game. And the frosh that shoots it so well (not Flagg) was like 5 for 20 that game. Two buggiest wins were that one and at UT. UT shot CRAZY bad. We gave them open 3 after open 3, they just missed them.

They don't do the fundamental things with consistency, either. And that has me questioning Pope's ceiling. I'm totally fine getting beat when player B is just faster or a better dribbler than player A. I'm totally not cool with the team not trying different defenses, not setting screens, not helping out on defense. Those things are on Pope. In some ways he's not gotten better. I won't question Mark's heart.

If Chandler , Perry and Noah are your hopes for the next year , we will have a worse season than this one.
Neither of them can start at Kentucky next year.
I think Noah is the exception of those three.

Sure got lucky at tenn. if they had made a couple of those bricked 3’s we have 4 losses in a row

i’ll trade one guaranteed loss to cal every year for the 10-13 he’d deliver as our coach. uk has been delivered back to its fans. **** cal, we got bigger things to do. we might get around to humbling him down the road. in the meantime let him be humbled by his own delusions, we are building an actual program.
I do not see how we, or any other program, can “build a program” without serious NIL $$$. In this new age, it seems like NIL builds the program … not only that … NIL actually IS the program. Now, a program is really only a program if it can be $u$tained. Blue bloods must evolve into blue blood$.

He's not playing Perry and Chandler over Noah, he's playing them because they're guards and our top two PGs are out hurt. Noah got to play when our starting PF was out. Now he's back and Noah didn't play. Carr didn't give a lot tonight and maybe Noah should've gotten a few mins in the first half to see how his energy might affect the game. Oh well, spilt milk, hindsight is 20/20, etc.
Instead of playing man with Chandler in the game, we should’ve played zone with Almonor in the game …

Great way to try to spin the subject. Nobody said anything about them being starters next year and nobody said our hope for next year relies on those 3. I said this team is what it is so why not play your bench and try to get them experience to be able to help the team next year. We are in the tournament this year and when the season started that's all we could have hoped for.

Tonight UK looked like a team without its two pointguards.

It Butler doesn't get back ASAP, this thing goes off the rails fast. We'll still limp into the NCAA tournament, but it might be as one of those rare teams that does it with only 18 wins on its resume.
Yep, tonight showed just how much we miss Butler. Arky focused on pressuring Robinson which really slowed our offense down. That, and this team still just doesn't value defense.

This will be March Madness. Too many teams are capable of winning it all this year. Parity at its finest. There is not one team head a nd shoulder above the rest.

IMO Robinson/Brea/Almanor just aren't athletic enough to be high level defenders! Maybe the answer would've been zone? But they were hitting 3's that they usually don't. I've watch them some, and when I saw them hit those early, I new this game would be different.

Hard winning college basketball games without a point guard. Hard not to regress while losing key and talented pieces. Not sure why that’s so difficult to understand……

I have been saying all season this team is a 7 to 9 loss team in the SEC. With the players we have we will be doing well to make the NCAA tournament and win one or two games. Pope has still overachieved with the talent he has. I am glad he plays Chandler, Noah and Perry as much as he does. Will be huge for next year. Pope is playing with house money this year. All these fans booing and bad mouthing him do not want him to succeed and I question if they truly are UK fans as I don't remember seeing them post after the huge win over Tennessee.
Well said.
I will take Pope along with Rupp, Hall, Sutton, Pitino, and Smith…coaches who wanted to be here to win for Kentucky…

UK plummeted 9 spots in the NET to #19 last night. That’s 5 seed territory with 4-5 more losses coming. We will be lucky to get a 7 seed

This is exactly what I was afraid would happen. The former players that couldn't drop it in the ocean, having career games.
And that crap happens here. We know it, figured something like that could happen but also figured we had guys that could respond. I am guessing we just could not respond.

Going to be hard to win games going forward playing your 3rd and 4th options at PG(Robinson, Perry)

This might turn in to a long losing streak unfortunately.

Important week for the basketball team coming up

Just get healthy. That allows us to be the best version of the team we ARE. And it is pretty stout. It has proven so. I'd rather ride with that as opposed to having Cal here. I'm really going to love watching the Hogs miss the tournament this year, and the rest of Cal's time there.

Good riddance.
