Villanova was a mediocre team all year. They didn't beat anyone good other than Wisconsin. They just have a nice record for beating crap.

For all the sophomoric bashing here, I'd take a #8 seeding in the tournament any day.

The foul discrepancy wasn't crazy. It was 21 to 14.
Utah st was constantly attacking the paint, cutting to the hoop, running in transition.
Nova hit 47% from 3 and 46% from the FT line.
Nova missed the size and physicality of Hodge but I was very impressed with how Utah State just did everything to attack the rim.
Yup, Utate St was good. Nova took it to them then gave it away. Interesting, the threes in this game. I think Nova hit ten in first half, then it was taken away

u state had better faster athletes and Nova couldn’t keep up so they reached a lot. Willard was clearly out coached BTW.
We didn’t have the type of athletes and size that Utah State has.

Along with the missed free throws Nova missed a bunch of bunnies in the second half & turned it over numerous times leading to layups for Utah State. Nova defense was also terrible but US execution was terrific. Potter was one of the refs by the way.

Nova just didn’t have enough size after they lost Hodge. Georgetown started to expose that in the BET.
Willard has awkward timing for sarcasm/humor and it isn't globally received well. Halftime comments taken out of context and then has to go possibly explain his joking after a tough loss.
That was weird, he has some real winners at times.

Most this board over rates Amaker because he was a jewel of Coach K...he did one of the most reprehensible actions you would ever see...not that he elevated himself at the expense of SHU but met with new employer using the wake/funeral of his star player's relative as a cover...oh and by the way he like Willard is a poor on the fly change thought concept coach
