Winning with in-state talent

I was reading Grantland on ESPN and there was an interesting graphic showing what states were supplying athletes to FBS teams in 2011. Mississippi ranked 4th behind LA, AL, FL. We are in the heart of this recruiting zone. Hopefully Mullen can continue to increase his influence with in-state recruiting.

Correction. Ranked Fifth. Didnt see Hawaii with the top spot.

We can build a roster on Mississippi kids, but we still need a few of the big pieces from OOS. Overall, I'm very happy with how we've recruited MS the past two years, and hopefully it does nothing but get better. Mullen has almost made "locking down MS" a reality, when everyone made fun of him for saying it in late 2008.
