i love the way this team plays. and it's insanely balanced. better see this board gas Sha up.

i truly believed it would take a miracle for sha to get this group of "bad players from bad teams in bad conferences" to come together and succeed. i'd call that OOC schedule a raving success.

Took care of business in the non conference. Should be 11-0.
Clark is our heartbeat. Rutgas tried to take him away and couldn’t. Hines is a beast.
Our halfcourt offense wasn’t great most of the game. Makes this win even more impressive.
Rutgas is an embarrassment to high level basketball.(and athletics in general)
Time to start worrying about Holloway getting poached?

hines is tremendous absolutely gone lol. he's the real deal
Sad truth is you’re probably right but I’m hopeful we will pay whatever it takes to keep him. I laugh when he checks in OFF THE BENCH. Payne is merely an appetizer. And I like Payne’s game. But Hines is so clearly superior and he’s only a freshman. Times are really good right now. I’m having fun again. Who woulda thunk it?!

Both teams played hard. We played well.
AJSM, Hines, Clark lead the way tonight. AJSM aways under control. With our pressure we started the game really strong.

Also ASM has already made me forget that we let Isaiah Coleman walk. What a call by Sha. ASM is the real deal. And so unselfish. A walking bucket.
imo, asm, mw and simpkins are all better. asm is a terrific offensive player and the other 2 guys can play offense too. and all 3 defend very well.

Have always liked Pike. Think he is a class act. And that he has been able to survive for ten years---- reputation apparently in tact---- at such a drama- laden place as Rutgers says..... something.
He came in and got some bids. that was slaying one big monkey

Pikiel is a good coach who has become a victim of his own success. Rutgers fans would be wise to remember where they were before Pike, and then think about why he might be struggling all of the sudden. The answer is obvious.

I was watching the replay earlier and the guy calling the game said. They just need to figure it out, and they will. I turned to my wife and said, They’ll figure out that they suck. They remind me of us last year.

I’ve been a critic of sha and he deserves all of the accolades coming his way right now

good for him. We are enjoyable to watch

I know one of ASM previous coaches who told me it wouldn’t work and he was an average player. Sha get credit for that. As many times as myself and this board pointed out players that DIDNT work out with Sha he should get big credit for this one

also funny if you read Rutgers board they had posters jealous of our NIL and saying how it’s unfair fight. Wild world

Pike has the same problem as Sha last year. He assembled a roster without having sufficient $$ resources. They are not good. But I think he’s a good coach playing a sub standard roster. Liked his PG Lino Mark and the Euro kid.

Hard disagree. They had it all last year and what did they get? Bupkis.

He is not it. Was a good stepping stone for them to move on

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that the 6-11 center that we salivated over 3 years ago before losing him to Arkansas, Baye Fall from Senegal, come off the RU bench for 3 mins last night. The bigger they come, the harder they Fall.

Pike in 2022 was on his way to building that program into a consistent winner. Back to back tournament appearances, upper tier finishes in the Big Ten, preparing to go after and ultimately getting a commitment from Ace Bailey and later Dylan Harper. Then came NIL combined with the transfer portal and that was the end of that. Pike hasn’t adjusted well at all to the portal, and he doesn’t have the resources to bring in the players he needs. The AD who hired him is gone in disgrace, and there’s a new AD with the support of a new President who is probably going to want to put her stamp on the department soon. It’s not fair to Pike, but I don’t see how he is going to recover from this bottoming out the program is going to experience this year.

We heard from so many posters that Sha can’t coach. This is despite the evidence of an elected 8 run with St Peter’s. I hope not to hear that again.

the problem here was always NIL. Somehow and someway, Sha figured it out a way to get a group of players that will play their heart out for him and play as a team. Extraordinary job thus far. We will see how this season is going to go in the next few weeks.

Most of those posters have been absolutely silent for a month. However, they will return as soon as there is any adversity.

RU has a bunch of under class man (7) so it was their freshmen and sophomore laden team mostly against SHU upper class men and more experience. Even SHA would not win with that roster today. Maybe next year or the year after as they develop. He did not bring in 10 transfers with a ton of maturity and experience. So stop with the Pikiel bashing. He is a good guy and a good coach.

I have always said the key for a good poster is balance.

When the team is playing well our negative poster's opinions are welcomed with the hope that they just don't come here when the going gets tough. Conversely when the team is struggling our positive posters need to acknowledge that as well. It goes both ways.

Winning is a combination of building a sound roster and coaching. Sha got an "F" grade last year. So far he gets an A+. Things can change quickly in this NIL era. Hopefully it remains that way (A+) this season and next year when there will be more major roster changes.

The frustration last year was that things clearly were not working but we kept trying to do the same things. The way the team came together this year probably has a bit of luck involved, but he is getting them to play well together, which is really going to be the question every year. The team will constantly change. Can you find the talent and can you quickly develop chemistry to get them to play together?

So far, the answer this year is a yes.

Maybe this has been explained elsewhere, but why does Rutgers MBB suddenly have no resources after last year's huge class? I heard multiple times on our old Rivals board that Jeff and Amy Towers led this fundraising juggernaut and Seton Hall was going to be permanently at a disadvantage when it came to NIL and other resources, not to mention they're a state school with a much larger alumni base. Where did all that money go? To a football team that finished 14th in the Big Ten? What a joke.

Pike in 2022 was on his way to building that program into a consistent winner. As Jerry Carino pointed out on his podcast recently, Pike has had success in the transfer portal before. Jacob Young and Cam Spencer were great finds. It's not like the guy can't identify talent. Of course, both of those guys later transferred out of Rutgers. He seems to identify some good young talent as well. Lino Mark and Harun Zrno look like they can play. Dylan Grant is having a nice sophomore season. Lathan Sommerville looked pretty good as a freshman last year, but I guess they couldn't afford to keep him either.

Before you can be a good or bad poster, you have to post. Some folks must have lost their password the last month.
