I think a 3rd year junior with 2 more to play. So perhaps not a lot of games prior but spring - fall- spring -fall -then spring again and now fall. That's a lot of practice at this level to fix crap.
If he hasn't so far I'm not at l am sold. Check that. I am not sold.
Great car.. bad transmission.?
It took teel a while. It wasn’t late until his third year as a redshirt sophomore that he was decent . Then he did stink the beginning of his senior year. Gavin is a true sophomore. His surrounding cast is not as good as teel’s.
Sometimes it takes time. Sometimes the QB isn’t good anyway . We will see

not the OC although he's hired some bad ones. Greg is the common denominator and his 'risk control first' mentality is a offense killer.
4 years in and people are 1. Claiming moral victories 2. Making the same excuses we've been hearing for years for the same bad results. The OCs keep changing and the offenses look exactly the same with the exact same weaknesses. Aren't fans tired yet of talking about 1. Bad O-line play 2. Bad QB play 3. No open WRs???

Teel had an injured thumb on his thowing hand early his senior year. And the only alternative was Jabu strictly running the wildcat.

This isn’t the NFL. Our biggest deficiency is the OL, which is slowly getting better. Schiano and Hobbs couldn’t just draft an offensive line. Our OL was a 4-5 year project when Greg came in. His true first class was the HS class of 2021.

we have the portal, we ignored the portal
the portal is like the draft

stop making excuses, this is not excusable this far in

Few other big time programs have a cycle of one solid QB every 3-4 years after they develop while we lose. That just happens to be our plan save Savage.
The whisky QB was a first year portal QB.

Thankfully I skipped 25 pages here, but what the hell were the refs doing today?...other than what they are supposed to do?!?!?

The portal is like the draft?!?!? It’s free-agency. Not a draft. You don’t get to say play either here or nowhere. And Schiano has used it to plug as many OL holes as he can.

point being is you can get players. Your whole premise is retarded. We can be more malleable but we are not!

Greg completely botched and you and the rest of the cult tried to shout down anyone saying get an experienced qb and line

Gotta love it that you write that I’m the one shouting YOU down. I made one post and didn’t quote or put down anyone. You came at me with the insults. Twice

4 years in and still unable to beat a beatable program in the Big Ten. You're happy with that because we might scrape together enough wins against rock bottom bad teams to get into a third tier bowl game.
well you know the old saying right; ' you can't tell a ***** she's a ***** when she' earning cause she's fixated on the $10'

Actually with the transfer portal it’s exactly NFL free agency. MANY other coaches don’t have a 4-5 plan to get a oline. It’s been 4 years and it’s still bad.stop making excuses for the coaches inept job.

Wisc is not a good team and the west is nothing to brag about either. Completely agree no one cares about 3rd or 4 tier bowl games. Except the GS apologists. He’s not the guy

These are the kinds of games where Schiano can show that he's improved the team more than just enough to beat cream.puffs and can beat some teams in the middle of the pack. Instead he trailed the whole game and yet again scored all of 2 TDs.

Last time I checked, RU was -12 for this game. I think it’s great the team makes you think we should beat a 1 loss team that will probably win the West. Great job by the coaching staff.

Look at the OL two-deep. Ash left Schiano with absolutely nothing in the pipeline. The only upperclassman on it left from Ash is Copeland, who was a project. The rest are portal transfers and Greg’s recruited underclassmen. Ash’s 2019 class should be our 5th year players. The 2020 class that he left for GS to sign should be our 4th year players.

I am not a great lover of Greg Schiano, but I think you are being a bit harsh, going into Madison and coming away with a victory is not an easy accomplishment for any B1G team. He has got MSU and Indiana coming up, he beats both of those teams then he has had a successful 4th year. Both those teams are hurting and depleted, they should be wins, period, if the program has truly improved.

Use the portal like every other successful coach. This isn’t the 1980’s where. We need to wait 5 years for a coaches recruiting class to be seniors . It’s still way way way to off from being good

We have a bunch of portal guys on the team. It’s not the 1980s. Use Google to help you. Also, how much are you donating to NIL to get the top portal guys?

That would be about right for Schiano: cleaning up on hurting and depleted teams, excuses/I need more time and money for everyone else. He's a mediocre coach with a low ceiling.

I think that many fans were blinded by the wins over the likes of Temple, Northwestern, Wagner, and Virginia Tech. The quality of the opposition has gone up a level.

There is one common denominator.
Which certain people will never admit. QBs and OCs come and go and the problem remains. Everyone seems to agree the best offense we ever had or at least the one that improved the most with a new OC was the one with Ralph Friedgen--under a different HC, who for all his weaknesses, was not as wedded to a certain type of offense.

it really is the 'risk off' philosophy that is killing us. Greg said week 2 press conference I think it was, 'My number one job is to be the risk manager'

can't win not taking chances. If he was Ike, D day never happens

some of us told them, some of us tried to be realistic but you know the cult thinks they know everything. We just got manhandled by a team that isn't very good this year

I don't think anyone is shocked that we lost to a good team on their home field.
