So I ask you with all the resources and past success , why has Nebraska failed ?

Let's look at What Alvarez as Ad has done after he left coaching

Coaching hires

Bielema
Anderson
Christ

All have continued the on the field success and more important all followed each other in offensive approach . When Anderson wanted to go in another direction , he was quickly ushered out

You can't keep reinventing the offense , you are always playing catch up in the recruiting department

And with the changes after Solich ...each coach with a different scheme...Look where we are now .

How dare you...you can't win that way anymore. Hell, even we never won that way. All the success under TO and Frank was merely a mirage and fake anyway, don't ya know?

Wisconsin has had good coaches who are great at identifying under the radar talent. It's amazing how well they do with mid level 3* talent! They know who they are and don't reinvent the wheel. There is a ton of pressure to win here in this fish bowl that is Nebraska football. Maybe it goes to their heads and everyone is so uptight they can't perform up to par? Having said that there is plenty of pressure at other top programs. It's been a strange ride since TO retired, that's for sure!

Wisconsin runs the Pro-style and 3-4
Their "pro style" and their 3-4 sure look a hell of a lot different schematically than our "pro style" and 3-4.
Newsflash: just because and offense is called the same thing as another offense doesn't make them identical. Play books, blocking schemes, and gameplans can all be different including formation and identity emphasis.

Maybe be pro style and 3-4 but it's been consistent in the approach , heavy focus on the offensive line

They can make it work without a star Qb ...with one they are world beaters

And the coaches are fundamentally sound at every facet of the game

Thy have an identity and do it well. The Riley/Langsdork offense is not going to win very many games.

Sometimes it's about finding the right fit. Remember that Paul Chryst was a .500 coach at Pitt. And Bielema is a .500 coach at Arkansas. But they're good fits for Wisconsin.

Maybe Frost can be our Chryst. I'd rather have a more proven guy, but to me Frost has that "It Factor". He's a winner. Kind of like Dabo at Clemson - there may be better football minds out there, but Dabo just has that leadership ability, that makes great recruits and assistant coaches want to play for and coach with him.

Nice to see Wisconsin stay true to whom they are and continue their winning tradition. Props to Barry Alvarez for understanding what it takes to maintain a program.. Hmm wonder where they got that guy from?
