they likely dont feel a need to stack the box to stop our run game. you don't really want to give t. lee man to man coverage - it makes it too easy for him. You want to force him to thrown the ball into windows, where he's likely to not see guys and throw some picks (6s).

They will likely only rush 3 and drop 8 into coverage.

Not only will this help get them sacks because the OL will not know who to block, but it will hurry Lee and cause the pick 6's.

Hell, the Wiscy players might all drop into coverage so they can fight over who gets the pick 6's!! And if he doesn't throw a pick 6, he will probably just fall down in fear of so many defenders and be credited for sacking himself.

At half time, Riley will tell Langs to run the ball, so he will call some naked bootlegs for Lee. When Lee gets outside all by himself with a clear 80 yard walk to the end zone, he will see the dark colored line that we see on tv and stop right before it and pass the ball.

I assume this is what you were looking for BRP :)

Nope. Wisky will simply punt on first down all night and rack up the pick sixes. Could be worse than the Georgia Tech-Cumberland game.

wisky had only about 300 yds yest....theyre not a juggernaut on offense.
Is Fumagalli (sp?) supposed to be back for our game? Hamstrings usually take a while- it would be helpful if he was still out.

Wisky is over rated almost every year. Part of it is the bad division they play in which allows them to rack up wins and avoid losses so pollsters are forced to move them up the rankings. But rankings mean nothing and are especially inaccurate this early in the year. i have seen nothing out of whisky that would suggest they are much better than NEB. They just haven't lost yet so people assume they must be good. No. they just haven't played a good team yet

They won't play a good team until Michigan. They have a good chance of going undefeated into the BIG title game.

They are definitely overrated every year, and I agree they've benefited from being in a weak division. No way they're a consistent top 10 program. They are a solid 2nd tier team that is well coached though. I think we have a good shot being a night game at home. Hopefully we can finally get this Wisconsin monkey off our back!

Wins are wins, you can call them what you want, good or bad. Wisky hasn't beaten anyone and I suppose we have? Beat everyone on your schedule and you have accomplished something we haven't sniffed for some time. My goodness, we can't take care of NIU and other business but to make it look better for us, we declared Wisky not worthy of their record or rankings the past few years. That is nonsense. They earned everything they were awarded and we earned the same. There isn't a person on this board that wouldn't take what they have done the past five years over what we have done and yet what they did was only second tier level play? Help me again with how many games they were blown out of? Amazing

We could very well beat them or get totally taken to the wood shed, who knows. They are well coached and typically do not beat themselves. I have heard how "close" the game was last year but unless something changed, we still lost. The difference between winning a tough game and losing it is very slim. However, given how incredibly overrated they have been and continue to be, beating them will not mean a thing will it?

Wisconsin showed a glass jaw briefly against NW, but gathered themselves and won the game. Their D plays inspired football and their O does enough to win.

i didn't compare them to NEB. But your schedule is just as significant a predictor of success as a team's abilities. the schedule is everything. i don't think NEB is a great team, but i don't think Wisky is either. the division is totally up for grabs because there are at least 3 if not 4 teams in the other division every year that would win the west

I don't know if this is a reference to yesterday's Northwestern game.
Because that actually happened!
Scroll to the 4:58 mark.
Jamerson took Dixon's INT, :p. Just look at Dixon's stunned reaction.

That is AWESOME! 'Take my interception away? I will just stand there with my arms out and not help with the return!' Wow!

Didn't see it until you posted it, but yep, apparently they will fight over the pick 6's! :)

See above about the comparison.

If you are comparing schedules and using them as a "significant predictor" then you have to say our odds are slim even though Wisky is not "great" but we certainly are not even mentioned in any sentences with the words great.

This team showed improvement last week against a weak opponent. We will see how well they handle the bigger challenge this week. All things point to a difficult game, note the national stats in a thread comparing where both teams are. I am hoping for the best, knowing this team has to make major improvements each week.

Hamstrings are tricky, see TA last year and Keyan Williams this year. Even if Fumagalli plays, I doubt he's near 100%.

Hamstrings are horrible. I just came off of one myself. They take a long time to heal. Once the pain subsides, you think you're good to go and BAM, you reinjure it. Best thing to do is rest for a good two months and make sure it's right.
