Why did MSU play so much zone coverage with arguably the best corner in the country? If he is really that good why not man him up on the No. 1 wideout and allow the safety more freedom to support in other areas? I'm not that familiar with State's defensive philosophy but just curious.

The philosophy as stated by the defensive staff is about creating TO's and they felt like a zone gave them that opportunity. If we would have had a significant pass rush we may have ended #1up in the country in takeaways.
