It's almost a given we'll have three different starting lineups (maybe that's not surprising under Stansbury anyhow).<div>
</div><div>But do you think any of the guys who get to start early because Sid and Bost have to sit out will be upset that "their" spot gets taken and they get their minutes cut dramatically? Or do we now buy into the "team mentality" that everyone just wants to win, regardless of the amount of minutes individuals get?</div><div>
</div><div>Who do you have in your starting lineups?</div><div>
</div><div>No Sid/No Bost</div><div>1 - Beckham</div><div>2 - Bryant</div><div>3 - Ravern</div><div>4 -Kodi</div><div>5 - Elgin</div><div>
</div><div>Sid/No Bost</div><div>1 - Beckham</div><div>2 - Bryant</div><div>3- Ravern</div><div>4 - Kodi</div><div>5 - Sidney</div><div>
</div><div>Sid/Bost</div><div>1 - Bost</div><div>2 - Beckham/Bryant</div><div>3 - Ravern</div><div>4 - Kodi</div><div>5 - Sidney</div><div>
</div><div>My fear is that Benock might get to start in all three lineups. Is Steele more of a 2 or a 1? Or can heeffectivelyplay the combo guard? Won't Smith get most of his minutes at the 3, or do we expect him to play any at the 2? Will Riek be worth a crap? Is Lewis going to be able to be a capable backup at the 4/5? And how healthy is Bailey?</div>

Benock could begin the year in the starting lineup for Bryant. However I believe that ultimately Bryant beats him out and is in that coveted "finish the game" lineup of Bost, Bryant, Johnson, Augustus and Sidney. Steele is a 2 and maybe 3. Smith is a 3 that can play some 2. A regular bench of Bailey, Benock, Steele, and Smith isn't too bad. I hope that Beckham is a pleasant surprise.

Rick has said that Benock will start, you know he loves Senior white boys.. I also think Bryant starts over Tranny, or I hope he does. Lewis will start unless Elgin is healthy.

So that's why I think Twany and Bryant start. I also don't think Elgin is going to be healthy enough for big minutes early so I see it like this:

<div>No Sid/No Bost</div><div>1 - Beckham</div><div>2 - Bryant</div><div>3 - Ravern</div><div>4 -Lewis</div><div>5 - Kodi</div><div>
But you might see Riek start and split time with Elgin and see if you can get 20 min a night out of each of them. I think Lewis is really a 10 min a game type of player unless he's really improved since last year. But I'm not sure on Elgin's knee or if Riek is going to contribute at all

</div><div>Sid/No Bost</div><div>1 - Beckham</div><div>2 - Bryant</div><div>3- Ravern</div><div>4 - Kodi</div><div>5 - Sidney</div><div>
</div><div>Sid/Bost</div><div>1 - Bost</div><div>2 - Bryant</div><div>3 - Ravern</div><div>4 - Kodi</div><div>5 - Sidney</div>

What Rick said was that he'd LIKE for Benock to be able to start. I think another poster in this thread had it right. Benock will start early but won't be in the end-of-game lineup and won't get more than 20-25 minutes. Then when Dee returns, Benock will get 10 minutes per game off the bench.

the players at Sanderson this summer? Normally we have several reports by now of how they look. Also, I thought Riek's problem last year was his knees (and that he couldn't speak english). A couple of years ago this guy was tearing it up at the Lebron camp.

Is there an official schedule out? I know we have most of it, but apart from the SEC games has the school given out one yet?

moved to the #2 spot so he can shoot at will and not piss off Renardo with his ball hogging.

... is how well he passes. Maybe he can run point for us a little, ala Magic Johnson?<div>
</div><div>But seriously, Bost will be our #2?

It will only be in name only though. He will still play point guard because every trip down the floor will consist of him driving and/or dishing to Sidney.

this source has his nose so far up Stansbury's *** he is just praying for no sudden stops. If Twany can handle it Bost is done at the point. Supposedly, the staff is very pleased with Twany at the point. He is described as a talented player who is very unselfish in his approach to the game. The big concern is whether he will be quick enough to handle some of the elite #1's in the league like Downey at USC, if he can't then Bost will be back at #1 pretty quick.

if it suited us to do so.

Again, and no offense, but this really reads like so much typical stansbury preseason ********. The dude is the second highest paid idiot in college athletics behind Hat.

will be few and far between. Bost is supposedly a pretty good outside shooter and has never seen a shot he didn't like but it is amazingbecause his arc is terrible but his rotation on the ball is excellent. Bost is bat **** crazy but he is one of my favorite players.

But if Stans wants him to start, he will start.. It's that simple and another stupid move to look to be made by Stans this year.

play the point. I guess we will have the entire pre-SEC schedule to find out if at least one of them can hold off Bost when he returns.

He is described as a talented player who is very unselfish in his approach to the game.

Yeah, he is so unselfish that he often scoops the ball low when going for a layup, givingthe defender the perfect opportunity to swat it into the 8th row.

Seriously, unless he has REALLY improved during the course of NOT playing for a year (which usually is not the case), then we're in trouble if he has to play point.

Having someone like Benock who's job is to defend and pass, isn't the worst thing in the world.

I certainly don't think Benock is someone who should play 32 minutes a game, but having a guy in the game who doesn't look for his own shot, and is happy to defend, grab a rebound, and pass is helpful for the MSU team. With Augustus, Renardo, Bost and Ravern, that is four guys all of whom haven't met a shot they didn't like, so the idea that there is a guy on the perimeter happy just to defend and pass, that can be a really good thing.

Now I have no idea what kind of defensive liability Benock is,so if he is terrible he probably shouldn't get on thecourt.
