a college team...

Do you choose Chris Relf or Tyler Russell based on what you know about them after 4 years?

Depends on some other factors. If I've got good receivers and O-Line, I take Russell. If I don't, then probably Relf.

I'm confused. How could someone make a choice based what they know after four years if you're not supposed to know anything?

But, based upon the make up of our team and how the two players have panned out I think Relf was the more effective QB. Russell never really lived up to his potential & was a bit of a fish out of water in the spread offense.

Basically - you have no idea what else is around you. You are starting a team and you have to start with a QB.

You are choosing Relf or Russell based upon what you think they could bring to your team.

Under a Rawlsian veil of ignorance, I think I take Russell as the prototypical quarterback. I see him working better under a larger number of offensive schemes.

Relf. Every day.

Without knowing if my OLine is good or not, I want a QB that can scramble.

If the OLine is good, then super they can block for Relf or give him time to make throws.
If the OLine is bad, then Russell will be blown up every 3rd play. What good is an accurate and strong arm if you cant ever get a pass off?

Some of you all are ridiculous. You are telling me, based on knowing absolutely nothing of the personnel you are going to be working with, if you had to pick a QB to build a team around, you would take a 2* with offers from no one over a 4* Gatorade POY with offers from pretty much everyone in the SEC along with others (may not be entirely factual but im not going back to look at his offers I know Bame and USC-E wanted him). I call major Bull Shi*

Russell. We probably lose to UAB that year if Russell doesn't start the second half of that game.

Our biggest problem in 2012 late season was our defense and not running the damn ball enough.
