Nothing but respect for kwhs95fan and chilwar25 (and Essex), but I may disagree (and also agree) a tad on some of the comments that have been going on about this topic.
1) Congrats again to CB on a massive victory - 1st Essex loss to a 1A (a non state champion that is) since 2011.
2) Essex did whip Northumberland (mainly in the 2nd half) and indeed deserve all the credit for the 33-6 victory. I stand by my detailed comments about the 1st half in the game posts. NHS was in the game until their 2nd turnover and late TD pass in the 2nd q to go up 13-0. Game over when you play an historically dominant team.
3) Yes, Coach Fulks is a fine man would say all the correct phrases to the press. I'm sorry that Essex does not have the crazy dominant team that they had for 4 years (2012-2015). They are still a top 10 1A team though and may could beat anyone in 1A if they play really sharp.
4) NHS coach should have just given credit to Essex and move on. He did say "My hats off to them for coming in here and giving us our 1st loss."
5) The Trinity offense was more complicated than Essex was as I had posted in the game summary. Yes, NHS could not stop Essex in the 2nd half mainly.
6) There is (or was now) an aura about playing Essex around here. No doubt.
Ask folks from Lancaster or Rapp. BTW, did not see that score.
The NHS coach is a good Christian man who made a mistake in his words after a depressing loss. Yes, he should have given more credit to Essex. At least he gave us an interesting quote to discuss.
I'm more interested in how Northumberland fares today against 2A W&L.
IF the Indians can win it, sets up a showdown next week with Colonial Beach!
