Oh he still was. Essex dominated Northumberland from start to finish. Tonight Colonial Beach was the better team but I guarantee you you'll never hear comments from Essex Coach Fulks like you heard from the Northumberland coach. He would be the first to congratulate CB on a job well done. Some coaches know how to lose with class

Well said kwsh. You win and lose with class. When you get your butt beat by a
Better team on a given night, a classy coach will not whine about the game, but
Congratulate the winning coach, not make excuses as to why he didn't win, and
Will not Put the winning squad down.
CB is to be congratulated on their win over Essex, and I am sure the Essex Coach
Did just that!

Nothing but respect for kwhs95fan and chilwar25 (and Essex), but I may disagree (and also agree) a tad on some of the comments that have been going on about this topic.

1) Congrats again to CB on a massive victory - 1st Essex loss to a 1A (a non state champion that is) since 2011.

2) Essex did whip Northumberland (mainly in the 2nd half) and indeed deserve all the credit for the 33-6 victory. I stand by my detailed comments about the 1st half in the game posts. NHS was in the game until their 2nd turnover and late TD pass in the 2nd q to go up 13-0. Game over when you play an historically dominant team.

3) Yes, Coach Fulks is a fine man would say all the correct phrases to the press. I'm sorry that Essex does not have the crazy dominant team that they had for 4 years (2012-2015). They are still a top 10 1A team though and may could beat anyone in 1A if they play really sharp.

4) NHS coach should have just given credit to Essex and move on. He did say "My hats off to them for coming in here and giving us our 1st loss."

5) The Trinity offense was more complicated than Essex was as I had posted in the game summary. Yes, NHS could not stop Essex in the 2nd half mainly.

6) There is (or was now) an aura about playing Essex around here. No doubt.
Ask folks from Lancaster or Rapp. BTW, did not see that score.

The NHS coach is a good Christian man who made a mistake in his words after a depressing loss. Yes, he should have given more credit to Essex. At least he gave us an interesting quote to discuss.

I'm more interested in how Northumberland fares today against 2A W&L.

IF the Indians can win it, sets up a showdown next week with Colonial Beach!

I never saw a score on Lancaster/Rapp either. I wonder if maybe they play today also. Not sure. As for Coach Cutler, I don't know him personally and I am sure everything you say about him is true. My only issue and maybe it's because I am old school but no matter what you think, even after a tough loss you don't say certain things to the media. Yes I saw film of the Trinity/Northumberland game and their offense was more complex but sometimes fancy doesn't necessarily mean better or more effective. I hope he continues to turn things around for the Indians. It's good for not only the community but for the district as a whole. Best of luck today against W&L.

I actually like the honesty that the coach showed. He gave credit when he said hats off to Essex. There def is an aura in this area when the teams play essex around here. They have been the standard so when they get up on you kids tend to put their head down b/c of how dominant they have been in the past.

Uvacavs1, you have some good points in your post. Nothing but respect for football
In the East, and all Coaches. Sometimes things are said in the heat of the moment
And we are all probably a little guilty of that.
As many have said, a lot of football to be played, and things will be settled on the
Field, and not on message boards. Best of luck to all our teams all over the State.

Hey Essex Trojan, maybe all this crap about NND and Essex will light a fire in the
Essex team, and they will win out and settle everything on the field.
These folks better not wake up a sleeping giant !!! Have a nice day!
