Why in the world would they have a female doing a men's baseball game??

As if Pam ward and the other woman calling football games wasn't enough.

I guess atleast Jessica Mendoza looks halfway decent.

That's the one I was thinking of

I believe she did a few of our games in '11 and '12.

Doris Burke also does a good job of analyzing men's basketball

she even does commentary on some NBA games for ESPN, and does a good job.

Doris Burke is turrble. She rolls her "R's" Its so annoying. For example: Emerrgarred. Then she adds an "shrrsh" or is it "garshshmarsh" I cant even watch it on mute. On the same note, who is the woman responsible for one of Jim Rome's favorite sound bytes...you know the one..." Oh my Goshshhsh, It's Roger Clemens" She is a radio announcer for the Yankee's....sounds alot like Doris.

Suzyn Waldman is who you're thinking of

And she is terrible. She actually teared up on air after the Yankees lost in the ALCS a few years ago. Like they haven't already won 27 World Series. Doris Burke might not have the most pleasing voice, but she knows her stuff. It's not like Jim Ellis has the most pleasant voice to listen to either.

It is a very, very, very good thing that experience in a sport isn't a pre-req to doing play by play.

Good point. Don't think Timmy Brando logged too many minutes at NLU or Fair Park High for that matter.

Imagine an NBA with no Kevin Harlan.

Or even worse... Imagine an NBA with only former players doing play by play.

I really don't see what the big deal is. First time I ESPN put a woman in the booth for college football seemed weird at first, but after about a quarter I barely noticed. It's not like the women announcers are any worse idiots than most of the men are, and a few of them are better than most of the men.
