Woodruff has very good stuff and a high ceiling, but if he is going to be a successful Friday night starter next year, he will have to improve his command of the strike zone. Command and control are two different things. One can have control without command, but not command without control. There were many times today where the pitcher set up on the outside corner of the plate and Woodruff threw a curve ball or fastball on the inside corner. He has good stuff and was able to away with today, but will need to much sharper to be a legit Friday night guy. The good thing is it is not a talent related problem and can be improved through hard work and coaching in the offseason.
