Put together a package to find a true lead off man that plays the middle infield. If it's a shortstop then include Furcal in the package. I just can't think of any player that matches that description, that's available that's worth it. The key is don't lose any of your young players. We need to find another position for Freese because his defense is horrible at third. Reminds me of Ryan Braun when he first came in the league. Maybe prepare him to play right field as Berkman gets closer to retirement.

I believe we played Craigat 2nd before his injury. For now he can fill in for Matt and Lance on off days and play 2nd on the other days.

that drop in G6 nearly made me have a double coronary. We have a nice core of young players that we need to hold and not use for any type of bargaining chip. I think AP comes back, much richer. Still, I'd like to see another starter added and perhaps a little more bullpen help.

20 run producers in baseball and plays an above average left field. Don't decide what to do with Matt Holliday based upon a 5 or 6 inning stretch.

He's played through a plethora of odd injuries this year and still had a pretty good offensive year.

I do agree with the sentiment on Craig. I really hope they make him take a million grounders this offseason and teach him 2B. If we could trot our Freese, Craig, Pujols, Berkman, Holliday, and Molina every night.... we'd score a lot of damn runs.

Yes Holliday had a terrible postseason but that doesn't mean you get rid of him. I think he played hurt the entire postseason. Not just banged up but hurt.

Craig has a bright future as of right now but I want to see more before we crown him the next big Cardinal.

I despised Berkman in Houston. Wasn't real excited about signing him because of it. That all changed as the season went on. I agree, glad to see such a good player finally get that ring.
