Worried about Mullen and Miami, and this has legs...

The 2010 Mississippi State football team was/is:
-the 21st best team in the nation
-in the top half of the best conference in the nation
-worst loss on the season was to the defending National Champions and #15 ranked Crimson Tide
-had only 1more loss than the defending National Champions
-is literally 2 plays from being 10-2
-just waxed that *** in Oxford for back to back *** whoopings, looking to make it 3 in a row next year
-is headed to Florida to play a New Year's Day Bowl Game against one of the winningest programs in college football history, Michigan
.......should I go on?

My business partner knows I am very excited about the improvement in MSU football and he has watched every game with me that we could get on TV here in Costa Rica this season. As we have done for the last 4 years or so.
All year long he has made comments during the games how much improvement he sees in the technical aspects from the players. One comment that came up over and over this year was the defense and a difference in preparation and adjustments made as each game goes along. Kevin was a DB at South Carolina and Miami as well as a graduate assistant with the defense while in graduate school at Miami.
I took some of those conversations a little further and offered Diaz as a sacrificial lamb... response was long thought on his behalf. He countered with Diaz should be the next HC in Starkville because he was confident that Miami "would get their man!"
I in no way want to stir the pot but I am nervous about this one. I trust the guy with millions of dollars in our business relationships so why should I not trust him when we talk about football? I have even asked him to stop playing with me and not toy with my emotions.

point being its your best effort in years and is still only good enough for 5th in the West. This is the reason that a hot up and coming coach might have a thought about leaving. Just enjoy your season. I hope Dan stays as I think it makes the sec and the ole miss rival stronger. Trust me I am not a typical ole miss fan that thinks our rival is LSU.
and moving upward. With the youth in our team we still have the "best" ahead of us. 5th in the west now, and climbing the next two years. If you want to poke a bear (Bulldog in this case) with a stick, go ahead. But while a handful of Crying Marys on this board are peeing their shorts over the possiblity of Mullen leaving the more mature folks understand that if Mullen goes (which he ain't), a good replacement will follow. State won't be pulling in a re-tread to take the reins. sweater vest, blah blah, etc. I am reporting what I hear sorry if it offends you. I dont hate State. No problem with them or you. Since this is a State board I thought you would like to know what I am hearing from an inside source. It is the truth. Dan and Miami have met. Like i said earlier it is a fact. </p>
