Thank goodness Lovie Smith had the NFL mentality with the late punt. The announcers had me laughing with all the "first three games are pre-season" talk earlier in the game. Reminds me of the Callahan mentality. Go 7-4 and still make the playoffs? Not in college, buddy.

We didn't belong in the top 50 for 3 quarters then suddenly we're superior to Illinois for a quarter. It's a good thing our defense wasn't completely horrible and kept the score low which allowed the offense to finally get things going..
