Worst offense… ever.

this is a silly line. No ones saying defense is not important. What people like myself have been saying for years is that you can be a defensive minded team but that doesnt mean you totally ignore the offensive end.
I wouldn’t say we “ignored” offense. Pike clearly didn’t land the guys. 2024 recruiting is a clear indication of him wanting to change

We are a hurt team. Banged up and no true PG. Hard to compete night in night out. We can see leadership is lacking and the FT struggles is all mental. We are better on the road right now than at home because there is no pressure to win at home.

The thing that bothers me is Pike refuses to recruit over his players.

Chol
Terry
Woolfolk
Reiber
Palmquist
Miller

Half the roster’s scholarship players right there.
Why do you think he’s going after 4-5 guys in 2024?

Tell me again how important defense is?

I’ll wait…
This is what happens when you recruit under the radar players instead of talent and dont hit the portal hard when you need to. We have no depth, no scorers and 1 decent shooter.

We needed to get one from the portal, it didnt happen. I said all off season the Paul was not a PG and took the heat for it.

Paul is great when he gets the matchup. But when he goes up against good competition, it’s 4 on 5.

Well, when you have(and have had over most of his 7 seasons) teams that cannot score, you have to teach defense and rebounding to win, and that formula has worked. This team really only wins when it plays great defense AND rebounds, and doesn't turn the ball over that much. Well, defense was there, but nothing else tonight; if you halve our turnovers, and have better FT shooting we win or are at least in it at the end. It's a difficult formula when you have a team that literally cannot shoot the 3, and you have the worst 2 point shooting team in the BIG10. Love Pike still, and even better days are coming with the recruits that are coming in.

They would be incorrect. Missed free throws. WIDE OPEN FING AIRBALLS, CLIFF?? Really? If it’s not a dunk it’s a miss. Please.
How many TOs? Paul could even dribble the ball up. Couldn’t run our O because Paul literally needed a pick 5 feet away from the 3 pt line.

I mean isn't that obvious?.. the best teams have a combination of a good offense and defense

Looking forward to the next few years with Pike's new recruits, it's not like his '23 and '24 recruits are lacking talent on the offensive side

I agree. But we've seen time and time again how true freshman cant be relied on to carry teams in this conference.
