I stayed until 3:00 @ Memphis game in 2000 and bitter end vs UPIGG in 2000

and I was late 30's in those games.

Yes its mighty hot but I'm sure the students had parties and other more important things to attend than a mere football game.

You missed my point.

the students didn't do their part. Neither did the rest if the population. ***** about one...***** about both.

To add...I stayed until the end of the arkansas 2000 game as well. It was my first date with my now wife. I offered her the chance to leave early to go somewhere warm and dry. She said she wanted to stay until the end. She passed the keeper test with that move.

i know we are fat, illiterate, poor, and unhygienic, but i have a feeling we can roll off the oxygen starved section of our back fat long enough to show up to an sec game...i could be wrong. i must have underestimated our back fat.

I've said this same thing in your other 2 threads about this. All I've seen on twitter and facebook all week long as people selling tickets for less than face value or flat out giving away tickets. The handful of people I know who are still at State sat on the east or west ends. The attendance in general was terrible, so don't just point to the students. Last week was a better representation of what you should expect this year.

Blame the school for scheduling that game. If you're going to schedule **** schools, spread them out. I could have told you a couple of years ago that USM to UAB would produce this. Pathetic.

Probably not Memphis, but I don't understand why we don't regularly schedule Tulane.

It's not just us

There were tons of empty seats at Bryant Denny in Bama's game vs FAU. Lots of fans don't get excited to see a game vs a mid major or low major and usually leave early. Not saying it's right, just not surprising. Happens all over the country.

I get both sides of the student/attendance coin. Most of us were students at one point as well. I understand that it was hot. I understand that the first half product was ****, but we weren't losing nor were we ahead by a safe margin by any means at the half. I understand that the temptation and relatively easy access to The Junction wasn't there when many of us were students. That being said, I've only left 1 State game, in any sport, early. And that was two years ago when aTm & Johnny came to town. I don't know why, but I stayed through the entirety of The Main debacle.

For the "adults" with young kids, I understand the need to leave. If many of the students got better tickets on the east and west, then good for them. That's on the "adults" as we're calling them. I'll agree that it wasn't just our new bowled in section that was empty after the half, when the announcer who wasn't Tim Couch was commenting on our history, but almost both upper tiers and a huge swath of the East side.

Long post short: I can't entirely blame anyone for leaving, however the students don't have young kids to attend. Learn how to get alcohol into the game damnit, and stay in support of your fellow students.

did the student section get moved to the end zone? it was sad to see 20 people in the end zone as the tv heads were talking about how great the new expansion was and how our fans are filling it up.

Until there's a butt in every seat except those in the student section, stop bitching about the students leaving and ***** about the fans in general leaving. Better yet, stop bitching about people leaving a miserably hot game at which there were people passing out from heat exhaustion right and left when there was a shitshow of a coaching job occurring on the field.

For the record, I stayed for the whole game.

Well, it was a ****** experience all around. Why in the 17 do you schedule a game at 1:00pm in September? There is always a 90% chance of unbearable heat. That being said, it was a huge fail on everyone's part: students, alums, coaches, defense, backup QBs, etc. Did we win the game?
