Would an investigation be underway if two bibles were found in a toilet vs. two Korans?

I'd bet the ranch no investigation would be underway? Why do you think this university would act so differently based on religion?

Sharia Law in Dallas: Police Investigating After Copies of Quran Found in a University Toilet

Cristina Laila Apr 17th, 2017 1:24 pm 52 Comments

Police at the University of Texas at Dallas are investigating how two copies of the Quran ended up in a toilet in the men’s restroom.

Really? The police are investigating this? Why? This is not a crime and we do not live under Sharia law.

CBS Dallas reports:

A student reportedly found copies of the Quran in a men’s room of the Student Union on March 28.

The religious texts were found between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. During that timeframe there were only about half-a-dozen students seen on video going into that bathroom.

UT Dallas Police Chief Larry Zacharias said, “We’re still reviewing video to see if we can get people identified.”

But Chief Zacharias also said that surveillance video has given them some new insight in the investigation. “We originally suspected these Qurans may have come out of the Reflection Room, which is on the first floor of the Student Union,” he said. “We’ve watched video in this timeframe and only two people went into that Reflection Room — both went in empty-handed and both came out empty-handed.”

Police said no one has come forward to claim the Qurans as their property; so no compliant has been filed and that without a complaint the incident can’t be called a crime.

Imagine if this were any other book found in the toilet. Would police be reviewing video footage? Most likely not. It’s one thing if this were actual stolen property and a person had filed a complaint, however; no complaint has been filed, yet police stepped in to investigate.

It is NOT a crime to destroy a Quran here in the U.S. We do not live under Sharia law, but this is what creeping Sharia looks like.

What someone ought to do is systematically put holy books of various religions in various public toilets and track the responses. If there is more outcry over some holy books than others then they'd have something.

ETA: Or for that matter, even other books aside from holy books. All manner of books that various people deem important.

Come on. You and I both know (if you're being intellectually honest) that this university would not have undertaken an investigation if a bible were found in a toilet.

It probably wouldn't. That's partly the point though. If it were a thorough and valid experiment then you wouldn't have to say "You and I both know if it were a Bible..." You wouldn't have to conjecture, rather you could simply state the results.

It occurs to me that if you put a bunch of books in public toilets at once in the same area it would be flagged as someone putting books in toilets. Maybe a better way to do it would be to either (a) spread out the books in a wide area so the finders wouldn't immediately see a trend since they'd only find one or two in that area or (b) put the book that you suspect would be the large reaction last so that if your hypothesis was correct you could contrast the larger reaction with the reaction of the earlier ones that did not get a large reaction.

I watched a few more Breaking Bad episodes tonight (now I've watched 39 or the 62) and I have to say that they scene at the car wash where the guy selling the car wash to Walt is handing over the keys to Walt made me laugh like hell.

The car wash seller kept saying "as is" (because he thought there were big problems with the car wash because Walt's wife tricked him into believing that, which is the only reason he was selling the car wash). Then the car wash seller is about to leave for good and says something like "I put 10 years of hard work into this place" and walks over to the wall where he has the first dollar he earned framed in glass on the wall and takes it off the wall and starts to walk out.

Then Walt says something like "No. As is," meaning the guy can't take the glass framed first dollar he ever earned because the sale is "as is." The guy dejectedly hands it over to Walt and leaves.

Then Walt breaks the glass cover, takes out the dollar bill and walks over to the Coke machine and buys a Coke with it. It may not come across well in text but it was hilarious to watch.

That show is an outstanding drama, but can be one of the funniest shows when it wants to be.

Oops, I guess I put this post in the wrong thread, it was supposed to go in the other one I started about Breaking Bad, sorry.

******* Christian snowflakes so fragile in their faith. It's a wonder we got through Easter with all our persecution here in the U.S. But the fact was there weren't two bibles in a toilet and it doesn't take a genius to think maybe it was done by a racist supporter of Donald Trump and since Universities have a lot of Professors and Students from the middle east that perhaps it warrants an investigation to prevent future harassment.

They didn't show him complete the purchase but just putting the dollar in the machine so you got the point of what he was doing. Maybe he pulled out come change too. Or if it was a can machine instead of a bottle machine then a dollar would be plenty. And plus as someone said it was several years ago when things were a bit cheaper.

Watch out for that creeping Sharia! it starts as a rash or somewhere in your lawn, not sure.

You posted:

The janitorial staff should have been called, the debris in the toilet removed and discarded and life goes on. Patx and the UT police like to make a big deal out of nothing.

I actually agree with your post above. But the entire point of my post, which you refused to comment on, is that no investigation would have occurred if bibles were found in the toilet. You simply may not be smart enough to make relevant comments thus you deflect.

I talk about what I want to talk about not what you want me to talk about, you'll get over it.
