I honestly think that Cal could turn it over to Dawson and Elliott and could equal Stoops record through motivation alone. I could promise you that he would have a bunch of players that would run through a brick wall for him.

I feel that if Cal talked to Mitch and said "either he goes or I go", then UK could get rid of Stoops.

UK should open the vault for Miles. Or, I read that Caroll doesn't like the situation in Seattle, maybe offer him a huge contract?

Why don't you guys get Cal's nuts off your chin. Geez-o-Pete. The MFer doesn't know how to fix everything, just because he can coach 5 dipshits to throw a ball in a peach basket.

Half the battle in this sport is getting kids to believe in the coach. Cal may not be able to help his coordinators much, but I promise you he would get more out of his kids than Stoops does. I honestly believe that those kids lose faith in the staff as the season progresses. We have had stretches during the last two years that you could tell that the locker room was having some issues.

I bet he could call more creative plays than Stoops. And I bet he wouldn't coach his players to run the ball out of the back of the EZ on kickoffs.

WOW!!! The same people making this thread and supporting it are the ones wanting Stoops fired. That should tell you something. Cal actually LOVES Stoops and thinks he is a great coach and has stated many times that he thinks Stoops is a GREAT coach.

You're projecting your own feelings onto Cal.

But tell us why Stoops is such a great coach. Tell us why he shouldn't be fired, OTHER THAN because Mitch paid him too much.

No I am not projecting my feeling on Cal. He has said it many times. And I have also stated many times on why Stoops should not be fired.

The problem with firing Stoops now is that this program can't be turned in 3 years. I agree that the staff isn't getting enough out of our talent, but starting over is not the answer. I've been following UK football since the early 70s and I have seen this same scenario play out multiple times. Firing Stoops just leads to hiring another coach who will disappoint people who have a 3 year window as their measure. I'm not sure Stoops is the coach I originally thought he was, but I think any coach at UK needs more than 3 years to have any shot at all of turning the program. And before people start talking about hiring a big name coach, that is not very likely. That's like asking why Ole Miss didn't hire Cal when they had the chance. Cal would never go there, and a big name established football coach will not come here.

If he went to Mitch and said cmon man these fans deserve better than this garbage would something be done?

Earlier this year - I think it was during the Florida game - Cal was tweeting about his basketball team. If the truth be told, he could not care any less about the football program.

Tell us again what a great coach Stoops is. Sack up. Tell us.
I am sure you can re-read my posts from before. By the way, I never claimed Stoops was a great coach. I said he is a good recruiter and deserves the time to get his team mature and coach them, and that he also needs more time than most because of this ridiculousness the last 50 years.

He also said a NBA draft was the greatest night in program history, He didn't believe that either.

Why does he "deserve" it? It is apparent he is in over his head. He is a lame duck.

Just like the last 30 coaches before him. He deserves it because he was hired to do a rebuild job. Rebuilds don't happen that quickly when dealing with this program. I think that has been pretty evident.

You think is gonna publicly say Stoops sucks??? Think about it
Nope, but sense neither of us know what he really thinks, all I can go by is what he said himself. I do know for a fact that he and Stoops are good friends.
But, isn't going to the AD and saying that, and saying it in public the same thing?

Do you resign and give back half of your pay on every job that you aren't perfect at?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That's funny. I bet you would. What does that amount he is making matter? It is his job. So if you practice what you preach, then you should be giving back to your employer pretty often as I know you have made some mistakes at your job.

I think it is Cal's best interest for the football program to be in the sad state it is in. It makes the Big Blue nation appreciate and love the basketball team and Cal even more. The Cal hype train can start as early as September since you know the football team won't be stealing the attention away. He would have top priority for financial resources.
