Star Wars 7-9 planned.

Lock it up, but admit that you care...

/when I create something that I sell for fo billion dollars we're finally going to have lights on top of the east upper deck. Then all remnants of the old republic will be swept away.

In before the lock and can't admit I care, haven't seen any of the Star Wars films, don't do fantasy movies that don't include tits and skin type fantasy. That includes any of the Indiana Jones flicks, ET, Harry Potter, etc, etc,

Thankfully, this seems as though George Lucas won't be around

to jack up his own creation, like episodes 1-3; Indiana Jones and the Aliens from Outer Space, etc.

I care!!

I can remember sitting on the floor of the State Theater in Downtown Starkville on opening night of "A New Hope". Great series of movies until Lucas got greedy and screwed up the story with episodes 1-3!!! He created a great story and franchise and I'm thankful that he did but I'm sure glad that he won't be involved anymore.

As for a new director, I'd LOVE for them to give Kevin Smith the reins! I think he's a true original Star Wars fan and a good director!

Seems terrible at first glance, but...

it was an inevitable move (to sell Lucasfilm) and continuing the Star Wars franchise was unavoidable based on market numbers for reboots, remakes, etc...

It'll be interesting to see whose hands it falls in from a writing and directing standpoint.

Also, who wouldn't sell out for 4 billion dollars?

I could probably become a Rebel fan for $4 Billion......probably!

I would and then I'd pay some recruits like crazy and be careless. That way, UM would get in big trouble. Then Id come back to state and have a building built and put my name on it. Oh, and I would do away with the **** cups and vienna sausage hot dogs, too.

Han shoots first!!

At least the next movies won't suck. Disney knows they own an heirloom and they are going to treat it right.

Great News!

Lucas has said repeatedly over the years that he wasn't going to make any more Star Wars movies. So this is about the only way the story could continue. Disney won't screw this up.

And to the person who said they don't watch any sci-fi or fantasy, God I hate people like you.

Serious as a woody in sunday school, I just don't get into make believe tv or movies. Watching the Croom teams was on the edge of make believe football for me

My question is if they go to Episode 7, what's the story? Are they going recast and keep going in the saga with Luke etc or do they go a completely different route?

Nah. Don't rerelease 4-6...

So do they re-release the original versions of 4-6?

but remake 1-3. That was a travesty. And on the #7 as well as the redos of 1-3 (sorry, have to wait until Lucas croaks or goes infirm or something), for director, two words: Christopher. Nolan. The force is strong with that one.

My only problem with this is the increased likelihood of more characters like Jar Jar Binks.

I think whoever makes the new Bond movies should do these. I'd also go R instead of PG-13 but doubtful if Disney is in charge.

Red Letter Media has the best take on what was wrong with the prequels. Any Star Wars fan should take the 3+ hours it takes to watch their reviews on the prequels. I love his part about challenging people to describe the characters in the prequels without referring to their jobs or appearance. That and how nobody seemed to challenge Lucas's terrible ideas during the creation of the prequels.

The ep.1 review made me cry laughing at least twice.

I cannot think of anything that was as cleverly done or as funny. MST3000 Manos, The Hands of Fate was pretty close. But, I'm a huge Star Wars nerd, so Red Letter Media takes the cake.

so many mixed feelings. I mean I guess it doesnt get any worse than episode 1 so that was the bottom anything after this is either upgrade or ****** enough to where you can totally distance yourself from and not take it as star wars canon. On the other hand there is some really awesome stuff in the expanded universe so it could actually turn out kindof cool

I apologize for any sports fans that had to read this
