Not to make light of what the guy posted, but if I was going to jail for 4 years, I doubt I would go and post on an internet message board. Also, is this the Rosedale banker that allegedly has funded money for Ole Miss players over the years?

In another thread, he posted his name and prison address, requesting to be sent Rebel news.

Exactly, so the punishment was for 1 count of embezzlement. Had it been 10 counts or whatever his sentence would obviously have been greater than 63 months.

I just thought 63 months is a long *** time for 1 count of that.

and as part of the plea agreement, he gets a laptop and subscription to yancy board while incarcerated.

It was a plea agreement, not a sentencing hearing. His own lawyer evaluated what he was facing and worked out a sentencing recommendation that was commensurate with what he was facing. The judge accepted the prosecutor's recommendation on the sentence. We're splitting hairs a bit, but the potential time he was looking at on the other counts was "factored into" the plea agreement.

I saw it. The funniest thing to me is that in his farewell post, he put a $ sign

in M$U numerous times. This is a guy going to the Federal pen for embezzlement, yet he has the nerve to question Mississippi State's recruiting ethics.

Oh, yeah...

http://forums.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=177&f=2351&t=10011015 (the thread is now locked but still there. I *'d out his name here)

In this thread where he requests Rebel news, a couple of posters were teasing the guy about being sorry for getting caught. Also in that thread was an OM poster talking about how that prison was nicer than most.

>>>>Apparently this particular guy, axle, made a LOT of posts making fun of State, to the point that posters were pleading with the mods:

Axle, why are you filling our board with MSU posts?

It is really not necessary. If anyone here wishes to know this stuff, they can watch it on tv rather than sit at a computer?

Mods, Chuck, someone!

20+ topics have been made by axle clogging this board with nothing but BS all day. Mods, Chuck, etc PLEASE stop this crap. It's been all day including during the middle of our game. Enough is enough,[/TD]

>>>>>It was suggested on another board to send him an autographed pic of Dan Mullen.

If we don't send this clown MSU stuff and pictures by the box full to that address, I have lost faith in the board that brought you "big feces" live on ESPN.

Basically saying lost his wife, his job, made mistakes and loved Ole Miss and the message board.

He was divorced long before he was removed from the bank and then convicted. He didn't make mistakes, it was all deliberate. His restitution is a small percentage of what is rumored he embezzled. He wasn't the only one who "left" that bank and the investigation still hasn't concluded. Much money is missing. He was making bogus farm loans, loans to deceased individuals, paying his wife nearly $100K per year and she did not work there. Several of the board members are truly upset as most were friends with his father and trusted HEMc. They're worried they may be held responsible. As they say in New Jersey, "he's going away."

I'm not at all surprised he's posting on a message board. He's an arrogant dick that no one wants to be around. Hope he enjoys his prison stay.

It seems like I read or heard something about the Feds going into that bank a good while ago. I had almost forgotten about it and had written it off as BS.

He was sentenced based on $1.5 million. Federal Judges sentence based on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

Embezzelment is a base level offense of 7, $1.5 million increases the offense level 16 levels = 23 offense level. Plus, there are some other enhancements to the offense level for stealing from a Financial Institution insured by FDIC, greater than $100,000, maybe position of public trust and so on. He was around an offense level of 25 to get 63 months.

I would guess the reason he plead.....was to save himself and his family any further embarrassment and lawyer fees. Because embezzlement is usually a slam dunk case. I doubt it was anything sexy like flipping on the mafia.

The question is.......what is his vice? I imagine he was making around $200,000 to be a bank president and with the bank that long. That is a nice living in Mississippi. So why? Gambling? another women? football players?

Here...

This Is Personal But Please Read..........

I have been in some trouble the past few years. I will have to leave today for about four years. It's a long story that I'm not proud of. I made a lot of mistakes that I regret but I can't change the past. It's my fault and I'm very sorry. I accept full responsibility for my actions. My wife divorced me and I lost every thing I owned. I have two fine sons and five wonderful grand children and that's it.

I have faith in the Lord that I will make it through this period in my life and return a much better person. I love the members of this board. I love Ole Miss. I wish you all the very best. I pray God's Blessing's on the members and their families. I look forward to being a member again soon. Take time when you can and say a prayer for me. Good luck and God Bless you all.

>>>>As you can see, that post didn't have "M$U"...but this other 'farewell' post did (emphasis is mine):

Ace.....You Are One Of The Few Here.......

That really disagreed with a lot of my posts. I want you to know that the SMB has helped me make it the past few years. It helped keep my mind off all my problems. Justice moves very slow. I wish I had been able to tell the members why I posted a lot about food, travel, M$U, other sports, scores, etc. Now you know why I did. I posted so much about M$U I was called a dog a few times. If you only knew how bad I hate State. When I return I will make a point to keep my posts connected to OM sports. If Jeff will let me I might post a few food posts out of season when it's slow. Good luck to you.

Funniest part of this to me is the judge who sentenced him is an MSU grad. I had several classes with her back in the '70s.

McCaslin's father was president before him so he didn't "work his way up in the bank". I met him in the mid-70's and he was an Ole Miss dick then.
