Don't turn it into a Stans bashing thread, although I realize that is all some of you know how to do. What a terrible night by our bench..

Once again, when our bench knows that the only meaningful minutes they get each game is to spell the 35+ minute bunch right before the 12 and 8 minute timeouts it's obvious they are going to press and try to force something to happen. Stans has wasted the freshman year and even sophomore years of some for so many of our players, it's not hard to figure out why we get no production beyond our starting 5 each year. We replaced Jamont, Charles, and Hansbrough's 35 minutes with Ravern, Turner, and Bost. The rest is exactly the same, a bench full of freshmens and sophomores that get trash minutes.

I have always thought that a team's bench earned PT by playing well. Our bench blows donkey balls and most of them have gotten consistent PT all year. Every time they come in lately they do nothing but turn it over and play bad defense. That has nothing to do with "trying to do too much".

PS: I am now about 90% off the Stansbury support wagon after witnessing that turd of a performance. Bringing Elgin Bailey in for Varnado 4 minutes into the second half when we were trying to come back just took the cake. That and even having Twanny on the team at all. Coach34, you win.

On a real basketball team, you speak the truth. With Stains's teams, there's no earning anything if you are a freshmens. Is it a coincidence that Ravern's now hitting a wall 3/4 of the way thru his sophomore season? He played mop up duty last year just like all the other freshmens in the Stansbury regime. I understand that Romero, Elgin, and Brian Johnson have looked horrible lately, but like I said, they are getting the SAME minutes every game. They give the 35 minute bunch a breather before the media timeouts and that's the extent of their PT. Regardless of all that, there is NO WAY that Randy Stewart should have logged 35+ minutes a game this season or last.

Our best teams at State have always had about an 8 man rotation. That way you have 3 guys off the bench that get alot of PT and you rotate them in and out for the starting five. I don't know where all these substitutions have come from lately. Subbing too much just kills the flow of the team and leaves us with wierd combinations on the floor.
