Interesting. What do you think your first comment says about you? It tells me you are sitting on some moral high ground where you judge people. How's the view from that mountain?
It says I live a modest life, not one of a Hollywood A-lister. If I don't see morning, maybe a couple hundred people would carve out a couple of hours on Wednesday to be inconvenienced by my funeral. However, when one of these celebrity junkies kills him/herself, America in general mourns like we lost a hero. Hoffman, Ledger, Monteith...and on and on. 'Merica.
You have no idea the demons people battle with. Some people aren't born with with a lot of will power. That in no way makes them less of a person. You must be extremely young to think you can discount a person's life because they didn't die in a way you approve of.
We all face problems. How we choose to cope with them goes a long way toward defining who we are. I've made terrible, awful, regrettable choices in my life - as did PSH. So I am agreeing with you - he's no less of a person, and I am not discounting his life. I am discounting the notion that it's a shame he died. He jammed a needle full of heroin into his arm to get high and left three kids without a father. That's the choice he made. I have zero respect for that.
