WSB-Atlanta Reporter Defends Report

Mark Winnie the reporter that lead with the story was on a sports talk show in Atlanta this afternoon and defended his story. He said something about a follow up story a few days ago at 5:00 pm ( I did not see that story and do not know what else was said ) ... He said something to the effect (I'm paraphrasing this)... they talked within themselves and determined that their source was credible and they are standing behind what he reported ....btw, Winnie attended Auburn.

.....and failed to ask him to confirm this story he is so adamantly sticking by. He must not be very good at his job.

there's a copy of his report floating around the board somewhere ... he said according to his source Cecil admitted to asking for cash .... I'm not sure, but during the interview I thought he said Cecil admitted this to the ..... NCAA but that just wouldn't make much sense .... also, it kinda sounded like the reason he could not name his source was some kind of legal reason ......... who knows ? maybe a gag order has been put in place and that's the reason nobody will be quoted.
