"The NCAA spokeswoman said: "The decision to rule a student-athlete ineligible is made by the university, not the NCAA. We do not suspend student-athletes. It is a school action. The university can then seek reinstatement on behalf of the student-athlete and reinstatement decisions are made by the NCAA. "

I don't think she meant what she said........

He was being investigated at the time and Newton hasn't been and wasn't being investigated. That is the difference

NCAA rules on whether the player is eligible. Most schools will suspend a player who is ineligible to keep from forfeiting the game, but the decision to play an ineligible player is up to the school.

ok but the NCAA spokeswoman stated that its not the NCAA's job to rule a player INELIGIBLE. which is not right bc the NCAA does rule players eligible or ineligible.. i think thats what everyone is confused on

They are taking a monster leep playing him this weekend. They must really want that BCS game. If they don't find the money but prove this the NCAA will come back on them and hammer them anyway.
