(March 19, 2024)</strong> <strong>– </strong>The West Virginia University baseball team returns to Wagener Field at Kendrick Family Ballpark on Wednesday to take on in-state rival Marshall. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., up from its originally scheduled time due to forecasted cold weather.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>The game will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and will be available to listen to on the Mountaineer Sports Network on The Varsity App, WVU Gameday App and WVUSports.com. Live stats will also be available on WVUSports.com.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Tickets for the game are available at WVUGame.com.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>For this game, baseball season ticket holders who are also Mountaineer Athletic Club members will have reserved parking in the paved lot on the same side of the street as the ballpark closest to Gate C. WVU Athletics parking will control all ballpark parking lots with pass holders. All other fans will be directed to the parking lot across the street from the ballpark.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>ADA parking will be available without a WVU baseball parking pass in the lot closest to gate A with additional ADA parking available in the lot closest to gate C. ADA parking is available on a first come, first served basis. WVU took the first game on Friday night, 5-2, before falling short in the next two contests.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Senior Reed Chumley had a strong week at the plate as he hit .571 with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI and six runs scored. He began the week with a 4-for-4 performance against Marshall at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston which included his first home run of the season.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Sophomore Gavin Van Kempen will toe the rubber for West Virginia. On the season, Van Kempen is 3-1 with a 4.22 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 10.2 innings.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Chumley leads the Mountaineers with a .306 batting average while junior Grant Hussey has a team-high four home runs and sophomore Benjamin Lumsden leads the team with 15 RBI.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Led by Head Coach Greg Beals in his second season, Marshall is 6-13 in 2024.
