Agreed that today will hurt bowl ticket sales badly, especially for the people who otherwise would have driven to Memphis or Orlando.

If that assumption is correct, then I'd rather see the team be sent out here to the Cactus Bowl because most of us on the West Coast would be happy to pick up the slack.

...in any bowl game by fan attendance.

You can pretend I'm wrong...but time will tell you I'm correct.
Normally the extra weeks of practice are a great benefit of playing in a bowl game. Having a few more weeks of Dana would probably be detrimental...

WVU sold only 4,000 of the 8,000 tickets allotted to it for the Liberty Bowl last year.
I doubt that WVU will sell more than half the tickets this year, even if it's in Memphis or Orlando. Offense is so inconsistent and blah. Smallwood makes a tremendous effort. So does Kwiatkoski. But young receivers drop passes WHEN they aren't way off the mark.
There was no way that Kansas State should have won that game. WVU offense settles for FGs. Kansas State gets a TD. Difference? 1 point. Game score? 1 point.

All of you in this thread, so far, can spend that bowl game day sucking your own... popsicle....
or whatever else you think you've convinced yourselves that you can reach!

Problem is we wont have much of a Defense next year. So we should work with the kids who will be returning. Not the ones who know the plays and the schemes. WHy not?

We could have the second coming of the Steel Curtain defense and Dana and eforest would find ways to screw it up. 7-5 is the best we'll ever get with those two clowns around here. They stink.

My wife and I started rethinking about the possibility of going to the bowl game a few weeks ago. After last night it is easy to say that I will not waste my entertainment dollars on attending their game. Looking at attending a couple of others as neutral fans.

Bowl game interest will be way down. Had 18 in our group for Liberty last yr. Est we will only have 4 this yr if we go back to Memphis.

Because, these seniors busted their a$$es for four years. They deserve to play in the bowl game over the younger guys. Sorry. That's just how it should be.

Same here. Arranged my family holiday plans to go to whatever bowl we land. Probably not going now.
I am family in Tempe, so cactus would be tempting....but hard to get excited to see another big game (which we typically lose).
